This Morning's Phillip Schofield is CUT OFF mid sentence

This Morning’s Phillip Schofield is CUT OFF mid sentence by blaring music on the show… just a day after a clip of the TV host speaking over Ruth Langsford resurfaced amid feud rumours

Phillip Schofield was cut-off mid sentence during Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, just a day after a clip him speaking over Ruth Langsford resurfaced.

During the opening of the show, the TV presenter, 57, stopped in his tracks when loud Leona Lewis music began blaring out into the studio ahead of her segment.

Holly, 38, revealed that the X Factor winner, 34, was going to be on the show later that morning and Phillip began to speak before sudden music erupted.

Following the interruption Phillip continued as normal, echoing the situation which is believed to have caused a rift between him and Loose Women panellist Ruth.

A viewer picked up on the similarities and took to Twitter to say: ‘The irony that Leona’s track cut off Phil speaking @RuthieeL #ThisMorning.’

The moment Phillip interrupted Ruth resurfaced on Tuesday, with fans speculating it could have been the catalyst that sparked her formal complaint to ITV bosses.

Guest appearance: During the opening of the show, the TV presenter, 57, stopped in his tracks when loud Leona Lewis music began blaring out into the studio ahead of her segment

In the clip from April, Ruth, 59, appeared at the end of This Morning to let viewers know what was coming up on that day’s episode of Loose Women.

Towards the end of the segment, Phillip interrupted and said: ‘Guys, we’re going to have to jump in there and stop you I’m afraid because we’re a bit tight for time at this end. Thank you, Ruth.’

Ruth, who clearly looked unimpressed with Phillip’s interruption, responded: ‘Well I only had about two more words to say,’ and looked away from the camera.

Phillip did not appear to notice Ruth’s reaction and carried on with the end of This Morning with co-host Holly.

The awkward moment has resurfaced on social media with many viewers noting the strained interaction between the two hosts.

One user wrote on Twitter: ‘Oh my god the dramatics,’ while another said: ‘The mask has well and truly slipped.’

Phillip said: : ‘Guys we’re going to have to jump in there and stop you I’m afraid because we’re a bit tight for time at this end. Thank you Ruth’

Another viewer wrote: What a rude tone… that means ego has taken over. Bye bye Phillip.’

The resurfaced clip comes after Phil was accused of creating a ‘toxic atmosphere’ for his This Morning co-stars, with allegations of ongoing spats with Holly and stand-in hosts Ruth and Eamonn Holmes.

It is claimed eight different ITV presenters have broken their silence regarding Phillip’s attitude.

A report stated the situation behind the scenes at This Morning had become ‘toxic’ in recent months, with employees too scared to speak out publicly for fear of backlash.

Not happy: Ruth, who clearly looked unimpressed with Phillip’s interruption, responded: ‘Well I only had about two more words to say,’ and looked away from the camera

Not bothered: Phillip did not appear to notice Ruth’s reaction and carried on with the end of This Morning with co-host Holly Willoughby

ITV’s statement in full:

An ITV spokesperson said: ‘It’s deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip.

‘Phillip is a much respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.

‘Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike.’

Martin Frizell, Editor of This Morning said: ‘I spend hundreds of days a year in their company and what you see is what you get, a genuine friendship from a couple who are both spontaneously funny and professional.

‘We have the smartest viewers watching telly and believe me they would be the first to notice any issues – they haven’t because there are none.’

An ITV source told The Sun: ‘For so long people have been silenced because they are scared for their job. If they speak out publicly about the atmosphere they fear there could be repercussions.’

An insider close to Holly added to the paper: ‘It’s true there have been some issues. They’re like brothers and sisters – they have ups and downs but love each other.’

The Mail On Sunday revealed relations between Phillip, Ruth and Eamonn are so bad, the couple snubbed the show’s Christmas party to avoid him.

The Friday presenters were surprisingly absent last week from the no-expense-spared dinner at a West London restaurant where 23 of their colleagues enjoyed a four-course meal and champagne.

Hitting back at the reports, a spokesperson for ITV said: ‘It’s deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip.

‘Phillip is a much respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.

‘Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike.’

The rift is said to be causing anxiety at YMU, the agency formerly known as James Grant, which represents all four.

Phillip, who joined This Morning in 2002, is also said to be envious that Holmes, 60, was given an OBE last year for services to broadcasting.

Tension with Holly reportedly worsened after the mum-of-three landed the co-host role on last year’s I’m A Celebrity while Ant McPartlin recovered from alcohol issues.

Missing: Holly shared a snap form the This Morning Christmas party on Instagram last week with regular Friday hosts Ruth and Eamonn noticeably absent

Phillip is said to have suggested to ITV bosses he could take the role and, when rebuffed, he suggested taking This Morning to Australia to film it from there.

Another source told the Mail On Sunday: ‘Phillip seems to hold huge sway at ITV but there is a growing list of people he’s worked with over the years who, it’s fair to say, are not fans of his… And the cosy, jokey on-screen partnership with Holly is not what it seems.’

Last year, Amanda Holden hit out at Phillip over claims he blocked her from filling in for Holly last year while she presented I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

Addressing the host on Heart Radio in June, Holden alluded to a rift when revealing the three things things she wouldn’t like to find in her home, flippantly telling fans: ‘Spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield.’

Former enemy: Amanda Holden, who has previously had a dispute with Phil, weighed in on the feud rumours and said ‘I really admire anyone who sticks up for themselves’ (pictured Tuesday)

The presenter, 48, weighed into the latest controversy on Monday by praising his This Morning co-hosts for standing up for themselves amid a slew of alleged complaints regarding his behaviour.

‘Listen, I’ve drawn a line under all those issues with Phillip,’ she said on Monday.

‘I’m just going to say I really admire anyone that’s going to stick up for themselves because it’s not an easy thing to do.

‘There’s a tin opener and a can somewhere and other people have found the tin opener. That’s all I’m saying.’

Despite the rumours of tension, Holly and Phil put on a united front when they appeared together at the show launch of Dancing On Ice on Monday.

In an interview with MailOnline Holly apologised for being tearful, saying: ‘Phil and I met on this show. There’s a lot of history in this show.’

Holly continued: ‘My kids really love the show as well.

‘I get quite emotional thinking about it, that all of them were carried in my tummy on this show and when we finished I always went off and had the babies… Oh my God you’re going to set me off!’

Spat: Phillip and ex co-host Fern Britton (pictured in 2008) reignited their long-running feud in October last year after she claimed she wasn’t invited to the This Morning’s 30th birthday
