The name of Tristan Thompson and baby mama Maralee Nichols’ son has been revealed to be Theo Thompson.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, the fitness model explained the meaning behind Theo’s name and clarified a recent report that Tristan was not listed as the father on the child’s birth certificate.

‘Theo, my little angel baby. I named you Theo because it means, ‘Gift from God,” Maralee began.

‘I had never been pregnant and had been told I might not be able to have children. I couldn’t believe I was pregnant, when I saw you on the ultrasound and heard your little heartbeat I knew I would always protect you and keep you safe.

‘I love you more than you’ll ever know. You bring such joy and happiness into my life. My greatest blessing.

She closed the statement by directly addressing a report from E! News, which revealed on Wednesday that Tristan was not listed as the father on Theo’s birth certificate.

‘Tristan’s name was not on the birth certificate because he was not present at Theo’s birth,’ Maralee explained.

The long-awaited name reveal comes after a representative for Maralee confirmed that the professional basketball player has ‘not’ paid her a dime in child support since his birth.

‘Despite news reports stating otherwise, Tristan Thompson has done nothing to support their son. He has not made any attempt to meet their son nor has he provided any financial assistance,’ her rep told Entertainment Tonight.

The statement came after The Sun reported that the NBA star could be paying up to $40K per baby mama – Jordan Craig for his first child Prince, five, Khloe Kardashian for his second child True, three, and Maralee for his third child, two months – for a total of $120K a month for child support.

Earlier this month, Maralee shared a series of photos and a video of their son.

She posted photo of Theo in honor of Valentine’s Day as well as one of her cradling him.

The latest: It was reported that Tristan Thompson could be potentially paying his three baby mamas $40K each in monthly child support for a total of $120K a month. However, baby mama number three Maralee Nichols’ representative confirmed that the professional basketball player has ‘not’ paid her a dime in child support since his birth on December. Maralee also shared a video of him – with his head not visible in it – to her stories, with his adorable ‘Lover Boy’ onesie in view.

She captioned the video ‘My sweet boy,’ adding a heart emoji

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed details of the paternity battle in December after Nichols filed a lawsuit against the NBA player.

Court documents obtained in December first revealed that Nichols was suing Thompson for child support as well as for reimbursement of medical expenses and pregnancy-related costs.

However, she subsequently told E! News: ‘I did not file any request for child support before our child was born.’

Additionally Nichols filed to submit text messages exchanged between herself and Thompson as evidence for her paternity lawsuit.

It’s claimed the texts show the pro athlete had wanted her to terminate the pregnancy, stated he had no plans to be involved in the child’s life and had tried to offer her hush money.

Statement: The statement came after The Sun reported that the NBA star could be paying up to $40K per baby mama – Jordan Craig for his first child Prince, five, Khloe Kardashian for his second child True, three, and Maralee for his third child, two months – for a total of $120K a month for child support

‘You know how I feel. My feelings haven’t changed at all. Won’t be involved at all. Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong,’ a text message allegedly sent by Tristan read.

‘You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly or someone who’s unemployed. It’s texas (sic) so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed.’

In a copy of a shocking text message obtained by Radar, Thompson allegedly offers Nichols $75,000 to keep quiet and warns that he is retiring after this NBA season and would therefore be unemployed.

He had filed a gag order request back in December saying Nichols’ ‘intention all along [was] to try to achieve some sort of notoriety and gain for herself in this lawsuit’ by accusing him of fathering a third child.

Tristan shared with his fans on Monday, January 3: ‘Today paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions.

‘Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.’

Tristan then spoke directly to the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star whom he first started dating in 2016.

He wrote: ‘Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years.

‘My actions have certainly not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry,’ his statement read.

The admission posted to Instagram marked the first time the Sacramento Kings player has publicly acknowledged he’s now a father of three.

The truth comes out: ‘Today paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,’ Tristan wrote on Monday, January 3 in an Instagram post

Apologies: ‘Khloe you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation’ he said in a groveling apology

‘There was never any doubt that Tristan Thompson was the father of Maralee Nichols’ baby,’ her lawyer, Harvey Englander, later told DailyMail.com a statement.

‘Tristan made numerous false and defamatory statements and declarations about Maralee over the past few months, and she is taking his contrite statement today in the context of all of those statements.’

His first cheating scandal went public in 2018.

In 2018, Dailymail.com revealed Tristan had cheated on the then-pregnant Khloe with a strip club worker from New York City named Lani Blair.

They welcomed daughter True on April 14, 2018.

At the time, other outlets reported additional women; however despite the cheating scandal, Khloe remained with Tristan until she when she split with the athlete in February 2019.

In February 2019, Tristan kissed Jordyn Woods after a house party, which was his second cheating scandal.

It is interesting to note that Jordyn was primarily blamed by the Kardashian family publicly on social media and on KUWTK, with Tristan and his behavior seemingly overlooked.

She was 21 at the time while Tristan was 27 and Khloe was 34.

Despite the turmoil, Tristan and Khloe rekindled their romance during the COVID-19 pandemic as they went into lockdown together in March 2020 with daughter True.

It was reported in June 2021 that Khloe and Tristan broke up for the second time.

That same month, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed how Tristan disappeared into a bedroom with three women at a house party in Bel Air over the weekend. Lawyers for Thompson denied the claims.

It was revealed in January declared his love for Khloe on the social media app in March 2021 just hours before meeting up with Maralee and conceiving the secret child.

On March 13, 2021, Khloe gushed about Tristan on Instagram in honor of his 30th birthday – which, at the time, confirmed their very much on-again status.

Khloe had confirmed their on-again status in the gushing post, writing: ‘The ones that are meant to be are the ones who go through everything that is designed to tear them apart and they come out even stronger than they were before. Thank you for showing me everything you said you would. For the father you are. For the best friend I have in you. I’m thankful that I can do absolutely nothing with you and it feels like everything.’

Adding: ‘I hope you know today and everyday how loved you are by me and so many. I can’t wait for all the memories. This is when life just starts getting good.’

Maralee previously claimed the child had been conceived while celebrating the NBA pro’s birthday in Houston in March 2021.

The Rockets played the Celtics in Houston on March 14 – one day after he posted his comments on Khloe’s Instagram and seemingly the day after their reported hotel meet up.
