EXCLUSIVE ‘Having twins is not as fun as people say’: Usain Bolt reveals he doesn’t want any more children as he vows to begin a new training program next year after feeling ‘out of shape’
Usain Bolt doesn’t want any more children – admitting being a dad of twins ‘is not as fun as people say.’
The eight-time Olympic gold medallist, 35, revealed he feels ‘out of shape’ and exercising has become ‘difficult’ now he’s four-years into his retirement.
In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Usain, who’s a dad to Olympia Lightning, one, and six-month old twins Thunder and Saint Leo, confirmed he’s ‘finished’ when it comes to having any more babies because his hands are well and truly full.

He said: ‘That’s me, I’m finished – I don’t want any more now. Being a dad keeps me busy, but I wouldn’t say fit. It keeps me busy and my hands are always full.
‘Having twins is not as fun as people say! I think when they get older but when they’re young, not so much. I’m looking forward to seeing them grow up.
‘I had my first child in lockdown it was good because I spent a lot of quality time and helping out and it was my first experience of being a dad so that was cool.’
The dad-of-three, who’s in a long-term relationship with partner Kasi Bennett, 31, confessed his New Year’s Resolution is to build back his fitness to Olympic level.

He added: ‘I try to stay fit but it’s not as easy because you’re not as motivated as you were doing track and competing, but I still try and work out every now and then.
‘I was just talking to my best friend and telling him that I really need to get back into a training program because I feel like I’m really getting out of shape now and we’re getting to Christmas and the New Year so I’m definitely going to invest some time in working out.
‘I’m not awful, I’m not bad – the level that I’m used to I need to get back to as close as possible.
‘It’s going to be difficult but it’s something that my body and mind is used to so it will come along easily as long as I put the work in it’s not going to be as hard… every exercise is hard, no matter the routine.

‘For me, at home I do have a personal trainer so I work with them and I have a Peloton that I do use and when I’m on the road I usually just bring a skipping rope and do some cardio in my room, I do some abs and stuff like that, it all depends on where I am in the world.’
The Jamaican sprinter is no stranger to partying – and has previously been photographed stumbling out of nightclubs after celebrating his world-record breaking Olympic success.
Despite now having three children under the age of two, Usain says he still finds time to let loose – while his mum helps to take care of his young family.
He said: ‘I don’t party as much as I normally do but I do still get out especially if I’m travelling, I get out and maybe have one night out because they’re young…
‘I think the older they get then we can leave them with their grandma but right now they’re still young, so I have to be there to help out.
‘Grandparents actually love their grandkids more than they live their kids, I have noticed that because my mum will call and she immediately goes ‘oh my grandkids’ and she asks about them, and then she’ll say goodbye and I’ll be like ‘I’m okay also, thanks for asking.”

He’s the fasted man who has ever lived and has an endless list of achievements to his name, winning the Olympic 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay races three consecutive times in his career.
How does an Olympian of Bolt’s magnitude continue to challenge himself? Usain admits he still strives for perfection in everything he does – and right now that’s being a father, and becoming a successful music producer.
He said: ‘It’s definitely been hard, but I’ve started music and that’s a new challenge for me. I have a family now so that’s a challenge for me.
‘There are things that are still filling up my time, I do a lot of charity work, I still work with a lot of my sponsors and Virgin Media, and I always have things to occupy my time. I am still doing, building, and moving forward. For me, I am always going to be my biggest critic because I always want to be the best and do great things.
‘I have thought about acting but I don’t think it’s for me. I’m more into music and I’ve started producing music, which is something that I wanted to do so for me that is the direction my life is going into right now. I put an album out Country Yutes. I did the intro so you hear my voice there, but I produced the album.’

Usain, who has a longstanding relationship with Virgin Media, surprised mega fan Alex Jianroran last week by competing against him in an online gaming challenge with a twist, appearing as a 4K hologram, making it look as though he was in the same room.
The hologram technology was powered by Virgin Media’s O2’s gigabit broadband speeds, which has recently been rolled out across the entire network of 15.5million homes in the UK.
Usain explained: ‘I’m here with Virgin Media – I was just playing some games with one of my super fans. We’re promoting the new broadband that they put out in the UK right now and they’re excited about that.
‘We have worked together for eight years or so and we’ve shot so many great commercials, it’s been wonderful and a good time and I look forward to continue working with them.
‘They also have a hologram, which is pretty cool so we’ve just been testing out the broadband and showing the world that it’s ready to go.’
