And it has since been revealed that Wayne Lineker, 57 and Chloe Ferry, 25, are NOT engaged, as a friend of the reality star revealed it was all a ‘wind up’.
The Ibiza club owner wanted to trick his friends and Celebs Go Dating fans into thinking he was set to wed the Geordie Shore star, who is 32 years his junior.

A friend of the star claims Wayne fessed up when they contacted him to congratulate him on his engagement news.
They told the Suns explained: ‘Wayne is a real joker and this is exactly his kind of humour.
‘He’s told people it was just a wind up over text. He and Chloe are definitely not engaged.

They added: ‘They got on really well when they met in Celebs Go Dating and will be mates for life.’
Wayne and Chloe left Celebs Go Dating fans baffled on Wednesday evening, after claiming they had got engaged.
They posed for a loved-up Instagram snap from the E4 show mansion, with Chloe showing off a huge dazzling diamond ring.
Wayne captioned the shot: ‘She said YES! Love you @chloegshore1’.
The shock claims left many fans scratching their heads, with most claiming the post ‘has to be a joke’.

Wayne wrapped his arm around Chloe, who held up her hand to show off the sparkling ring.
Chloe replied to the post: ‘Love you’.
While many of Wayne’s celebrity pals rushed to congratulate the pair, many followers took to comment section saying they thought the whole thing was a hoax.
Their Celebs Go Dating co-star Curtis Pritchard wrote: ‘Go on Wayne congratulations. Big man haha love bro love!’.

One of the businessman’s relatives typed: ‘Congrats! Can’t believe we had to keep this secret for so long!! xx’.
Some of Wayne’s followers weren’t fooled however.

Another unimpressed follower typed: ‘Please act your age Wayne, you are old enough to be her grandad’.

During an appearance on This Morning last month, Holly Willoughby bluntly asked the club owner ‘why can’t he date women his own age?’
Wayne previously refused to consider a future girlfriend close to his age, insisting in his checklist that ‘it would just look weird,’ and he’d prefer someone around 28.
He told Holly that after listening to advice from the Celebs Go Dating experts, he has broadened his age bracket, slightly.

‘I am opening up,’ he insisted. ‘I’ve come to realise, even though there would still be a large age gap, 30-45 would be ideal.’
‘What’s wrong with women your own age?’ Holly quizzed, with Wayne replying: ‘I don’t know. I wouldn’t rule it out but everyone has their own attractions don’t they?’
He added though that he had thought carefully about girlfriend checklist, explaining that it’s based on his past romance mistakes: ‘It’s bordering on controversial.
‘I tried to take some things from previous relationships, the comments about you must be able to prepare to give up your job or prepare to work on a beach that’s because my last relationship broke up because she got a new career.’
‘My family are very concerned about me, when I’m single I tend to get carried away and go out too much.
‘I am looking for a relationship and I’m ready to settle down, believe it or not, I am ready to be single I don’t need this crazy lifestyle I lead’.
