What Liverpool fans are saying about Henderson after he started ahead of Keita

Liverpool fans have given their full-time assessment on Jurgen Klopp’s decision to start Jordan Henderson ahead of Naby Keita against Leicester City.

Keita had started all three of Liverpool’s previous games but was surprisingly demoted for the clash at the King Power Stadium.

Captain Henderson, had yet to start a game all season.

On the 28-year-old’s recall, Klopp said: "I thought it made sense for the game today.

"We have to [be], if you want, rock solid, in all departments because Leicester is a good football-playing side, so we need to defend very well, to be really compact and all different things so it helps when the boys are used to this.

"This midfield played pretty much the last third of the last season unchanged, so that’s the reason.

"On the other hand, it’s about being fresh and all that stuff."

Liverpool went on to win the clash 2-1, although the Reds were far from at their best.

At full-time, fans were quick to assess Klopp’s tactical decision on social media.

One supporter tweeted: "Hopefully Klopp will see that it was an error to start Henderson today. We did not control the midfield and he takes away from Gini getting on the ball. Keita must start going forward."

Another posted: "LFC are better controlling the game and keeping possession without Henderson at midfield. I thought we got better when Keita replaced him."
