Former Eastenders star Tamzin Outhwaite, who is already a mother of two, made the revelation in an interview with The Sun, telling the publication that she does not plan on having more children and would ultimately call it quits with Tom if he wanted to start a family.

“He really doesn’t want kids but if he said, ‘Babe, I really want to have children’, then why would I stop him doing that?” Tamzin explained.

The Ilford native continued to stress that raising two children is already enough work as it is, so there’s no chance she would want to welcome a third, even if Tom — who supposedly doesn’t want kids — was to change his mind down the line.

“I’ve got two [children]. I’ve really got to keep my eye on the ball keeping these two well, alive and healthy,” she continued.

“I’m not having any more. No way. I’m done.”

Tamzin, who is a mum to Florence, 13 and Marnie, 9 from her previous relationship with ex-husband Tom Ellis, met her current beau outside of a London yoga studio four years ago, and they just recently decided to move in together.

While her relationship with Tom is still going ever-so-strong, Tamzin further revealed that marriage is also not something she’s considering at this point in her life.

She had previously said that tying the knot again was out of the question after calling it quits with her ex-husband, whom she was married to from 2006 to 2014.

Tamzin also believed that if she was to get hitched once again, her daughters would “hate it”.

 

She went on to say that her children would no longer put her off from considering the idea of walking down the aisle once again, but at this point in her life, it’s simply not something she focuses much attention on.

“It’s not about the girls. If I wanted to get married, I would. But I don’t see a need now, I feel free and it’s lovely.”

What’s made Tamzin’s relationship with Tom last as long as it has is that they are both on the same page as far as their wants and needs in the relationship are concerned, she says.

Tom doesn’t want any children and has a very mature character about him while Tamzin insists that she’s still young at heart and feels like she’s still in her twenties.

“I’m like a big kid. I still think I’m in my twenties,” she added.

“Even my dad said, ‘You’ve got to slow down and grow up. You’re 50 now!’ I love spontaneity, I’m not great with plans and it’s a very childish way of living but Tom is much more mature.”

Tom has also helped Tamzin overcome some of the biggest hurdles in her life, such as losing her mum Anna Santi who died of an aneurysm at the age of 67 in 2018.

Tamzin later learned that her mother did not have a formal will in writing, meaning that the soap star and her siblings were not given “what was meant for them”.

“I know what my mum would have wanted, but she didn’t have it written down. My advice is to prevent it happening and write it down, especially if you have property,” she said.

“There were no tears over not getting money but the feeling that my mum’s wishes weren’t carried through.”

Meanwhile, Tamzin’s ex-husband has since remarried after falling in love with his now-wife Meaghan, whom he married in a private woodland ceremony in Santa Ynez in 2019.

The exes are still in close contact as they co-parent their daughters together.

Tamzin recently played Barbara Watson in the four-part TV series Ridley Road on BBC One.
