Bask in summer’s hottest colours for a sizzling make-up look

Here we look at the hottest seasonal hues from bronze goddess to orange crush, mellow yellow and peachy please. Get the sizzling summer make-up look you need here.

Jolly good yellow

Millennial pink, you’ve had your moment – now it’s all about Gen Z yellow, and where better to wear it than on your face?

It may seem scary a for an eye make-up choice, but it’s actually flattering for all skin tones as long as you pick the right shade.

For dark and medium skin tones, go bold with NYX Professional Makeup Hot Singles Eye Shadow in Butterscotch, £3.50, while a pastel hue like Kiko Cosmetics Smart Colour Eyeshadow in Pearly Yellow, £2.50, is great for fair skin.

If you don’t feel brave enough for a full sweep, apply just a touch to your inner corners.

Either way, remember to keep the rest of your make-up pared back.

Bronze goddess

Nothing says beach babe more than a not-so-subtle all-over glow.

Start with a liquid highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones – we like Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid, £7.99, as it can be mixed into foundation or applied over a base.

Then build up Too Faced Dark Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, £22.50, beneath your cheekbones for a three-dimensional contoured finish.

On eyes, try Barry M Meteor Storm Eyeshadow Palette, £9.99 – we’ve layered up the terracotta and orangey-gold, then added the deep brown on top.

For lips, use a cool, nutty brown like Sleek Makeup Matte Me in Hazelnut Crush, £4.99.

Orange crush

Nothing says summer like a punchy pout, and Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick in Abrico’ Dabrai!, £8.99, is our go-to – one application gives a full-impact finish.

For a twist, add a touch of matte neon orange like Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in Flamepoint, £10, to the middle, pressing it in with your fingers.

Finish with a sweep of CYO Crush On Metal Metallic Eyeshadow in Lovey Dovey, £4.50, over the entire lid and under the lower lash line.

Peachy please

Peach is ideal for warming up dull complexions or showing off a sun-kissed glow.

Try Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette, £25 , on eyes, starting with the matte peach on the lower lid, then the dark shimmer in the crease and under the lower lashes.

Next add the light shimmery shade all over, blending outwards, and break up the colour with lashings of mascara – we love Benefit BADgal Bang! Volumising Mascara, £21.50.

Finish the look with a sweep of L’Oréal Paris Life’s A Peach Skin Awakening Blush, £8.99, and a touch of Rimmel London Oh My Gloss! Lip Gloss in Just Peachy, £5.49.
