I caught my ex cheating with his colleague so I got the ultimate revenge – lads should be publicly shamed

WHEN the guy Natalie Kendall was dating told her he couldn't see her because of work, she decided to surprise him.

But the 22-year-old was left mortified when she walked in on him kissing his colleague.

Natalie, from Gloucester, saw red and got the ultimate revenge on her ex – saying lads should be shamed for cheating.

The now 33-year-old, who works in a pub kitchen, had been dating Jason* for three months when she made the brutal discovery.

Then living in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, she tells Fabulous: "He worked behind the bar at a bowling alley, that's where we met as I used to go there with my friends every couple of months.

"After we started seeing each other, I started going every week – either with a friend or on my own – to chat to Jason while I had a drink.

"I really liked him, it wasn’t something really special yet but I felt like it was getting there, I thought we were onto something good.

"We were getting on really well and became close quite quickly. Then all of a sudden he went cool on me and stopped messaging me back as much, which I thought was weird.

"One night, he told me he was working so I thought ‘I’ll go down and see him at work, and have a drink with my friends’.

"When I got to the bowling alley, I saw he wasn’t working. He was with some friends and this girl, who apparently worked there as well, and I walked in on him mid-snog.

"I just saw red, I realised he'd been stringing me along. He kept fobbing me off, saying ‘no I’m really busy babe, I do want to see you’ and stuff like that. He had me clinging onto false hope.

"When I saw that kiss, I felt my stomach drop out, I felt really hurt and was absolutely seething with anger.

"I felt like everything he'd said to me had been a lie. I don't know why he couldn't just say ‘I'm not interested anymore'.

"It was embarrassing and it really hurt me that all the people he was with knew me.

"They all worked at the bowling alley together and knew he was seeing me, so it felt really personal.

"It was so public and in front of these people I used to say ‘hello’ to. And that was my favourite bowling alley, I had to find a new one after all of this."

When I got to the bowling alley, I saw he wasn’t working like he'd claimed. He was with this girl, who apparently worked there as well, and I walked in on him mid-snog

Natalie was with three friends when she caught Jason red-handed – and decided to get revenge on him.

The Sun recently revealed how Mabel's new album features a string of songs shaming men who dumped her – sparking the memory for Natalie.

She says: "When I saw them snogging, I just froze. Jason didn’t clock me, a couple of people he was with did but he didn’t.

"This was 10 years ago, I was a bit more feisty back then, and I was not impressed at all.

"I went to the bar and ordered a large glass of wine which I downed pretty much in one go.

"Then I went over to the juke box and found the song Gives You Hell by the All-American Rejects.

"I turned the music up as loud as it would go and stood up on the booth opposite where they were sitting. I sang it at the top of my voice, while pointing at him.

"My friends joined me and we got other customers to do it as well, to make it very clear this guy had done something wrong.

"Jason looked absolutely mortified, like he wanted the ground to swallow him up."

We covered his car in muck and toilet roll. Then he came out with security and we ran off again

The hapless cheat walked away from the girls but they followed him, singing the song.

Natalie says: "He went into a staff area in the end so we couldn’t follow him.

"We carried on singing and making a bit of a nuisance of ourselves, until the song ended and security came over.

"We just legged it out of there. I ended up leaving my scarf but I never went back for it."

Giggling, the girls waited to catch their breath in the car park but soon realised security weren't following them anymore.

Natalie says: "Then I spotted Jason's car. I just picked up anything I could off the floor – clumps of leaves, grass, mud – and smeared it all over his windshield.

"We stuffed it up under the handle so he’d get his hands dirty when he tried to open the car.

"We didn’t vandalise anything but we covered his car in muck and toilet roll. Then he came out with security and we ran off again.

"I never heard from Jason again, I was expecting a nasty message about making a mess of his car but I literally never spoke to him again."

Natalie, who's now in a three-year relationship, says she wouldn't be so bold now – but doesn't regret what she did.

She says: "I wouldn’t react in that way now, I wouldn’t be as bold or public about it, but back then I was quite a livewire.

"I still find it funny and think ‘you go girl’. Fair play, he deserved that for what he did.

"It wasn’t anything horrendous, no-one got hurt, it was just a bit of fun, a bit of revenge, a bit of public shaming ultimately.

"Looking back, I think ‘he deserved that and good on me for doing it’. I had my crew there and they supported me and we had a laugh.

He deserved that for what he did. It wasn’t anything horrendous, no-one got hurt, it was just a bit of fun, a bit of revenge, a bit of public shaming ultimately

"If someone’s going to mess around, they deserve to be shamed. Now I'm in my 30s, I wouldn't act that way. But if I was still in my 20s, I definitely would do it again.

"I felt a bit ashamed the day afterwards, I woke up and thought ‘maybe that wasinappropriate’ and I calmed down afterwards.

"I think it was the combination of thinking ‘ooh was that a bit over the top?' and also what I'd been through.

"Jason made me question trusting people. I’d never been cheated on before and I was really surprised by it, especially as he was sounding really keen.

"It made me second guess myself and I didn’t date for quite a while afterwards."
