A young woman who was looking for a cheap haircut thought she'd struck gold when she signed up to be a hair model.
However she soon learned that sometimes it's best to stick with what you know.
Laura, who is from New Zealand, took to TikTok and explained: "I offered to be a hair model to get a free trim…it was so bad I would've rather forked out £250 for a professional."
She then shared a selection of stylish baby pink hair dos that she was expecting to receive.
So Laura was left horrified when what she actually got was something very different.
Instead, the hairdresser had given her vibrant, hot pink locks, which looked like they'd been hacked away with a pair of garden shears.

Laura captioned the post: "Sometimes free things just aren't worth it."
And it wasn't long before social media users took to the comments section to discuss the dodgy 'do.

"HOW DID THEY DO YOU SO DIRTY?" asked one.
A second commented: "NOOOO," while a third simply penned: "Omg."

Elsewhere, others sympathised with Laura and shared their equally disastrous hair stories.
"Omg I did a modelling job in wellington for a local salon recently and he hacked almost ALL my hair off…I feel you," wrote one.
Laura replied: "Our hair modelling career ended before it started."
A second recalled: "I literally got that same hair cut but dyed blue! Took so long to grow out of fix."

A third revealed: "I had my hair messed up on a free bleach and colour by a guy with years of experience. Next time I saw him I puked in his car (it was an accident)."
Meanwhile, a further added: "Girl I got done dirty by this guy too. I actually got 2 cuts that were nice and the 3rd I looked like a troll."
