Mum reveals how she was able to transform her dingy downstairs loo into a boutique bathroom for just £60 – The Sun

A MUM has revealed how she transformed her dingy downstairs loo into a boutique bathroom for just £60.

Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing & Bargains UK, run by money saving mum Holly Smith, the anonymous DIY enthusiast shared before and after snaps of her toilet.

The before images showcased the dated pink suite combine with matching tiles and ageing floral drapes above the loo.

But she was able to breathe new life into her suite with the help of £7.99 tile stickers, a replacement wooden toilet seat and £17 vinyl flooring from Carpetright, all in a chic shade of grey.

The old fashioned curtains have been replaced with black out shutters, purchased for £11 on eBay, and she added finishing touches in the form of a crystal lightshade and faux succulents for the windowsill.

Captioning her snaps she wrote: “In case anyone cares (probably don’t) here’s my finished bathroom from the other day, cost me in total about £60.”

And it seem that fellow group members really did care with her post amassing almost 4,000 likes and hundreds of comments from those praising her handiwork.

One wrote: “How have you made that vile pink bathroom look good?”

Another added: “Amazing what little changes make a massive difference lovely.”

A third commented: “You don’t need to have loads of money to have a nice house just a bit of imagination. Congratulations on a brilliant job well done.”

"Little changes but they make it look sooo much lovelier, well done you" another agreed.

In other bargain news, a DIY mum reveals how she transformed her "tired and overused" staircase with stickers and paint for just £65.
