Although it might not be as glamorous as the Golden Globes or the Oscars, the evening of the Teen Choice Awards is one of the most entertaining nights of the year. Since its first telecast all the way back in 1999, a lot of crazy things have happened during the TCAs. Whether it was Harry Styles twerking or Camila Cabello making out with a guy in a panda suit (yes, seriously!), a LOT has gone down during the fan-voted show over the years. And, with just a few hours before the 2018 show airs on Fox, we’re sure we’ll have more favorite moments to add to our life. But let’s be real: one of the best parts happens before the broadcast even begins.
We’re obviously talking about the red carpet where celebs strut their stuff for all to see, even though the dress code is a bit more casual than at other similar events. Still, the
red blue carpet is the place to impress. Over the years, many of our fave stars have served jaw-dropping looks that STILL leave us #shook, so we might as well take a trip down memory lane to reminisce on some of our faves.
Let’s kick off our best dressed list with the one and only Maddie Ziegler. The dancer slayed the red carpet of the Teen Choice Awards in 2017 with this two-piece ensemble that had us quaking. The colors, the pattern, the fit — the 15-year-old didn’t come to play. She came to slay.
Also in 2017, Victoria Justice shocked us with this white jumpsuit that looked killer against the TCAs’ blue carpet. It’s simple and monochromatic, but the beauty is really in the fit. Nothing tops a well-fitted jumpsuit, TBH. And that little cut out in the middle makes it all the better. A+ to you, Vic!
We stan a well-fitted pant suit hard, so when Sofia Carson took the red carpet of the Teen Choice Awards in 2016, we were shook. Although the color looks more orange in the picture, the outfit is actually a strawberry color. The best part, however, is really the silver accent jewelry that adds some extra flare to the already gorgeous look.
Leave it to Keke Palmer to bring all the fun to the Teen Choice Awards. In 2016, the actress showed off this disco-vibe jumpsuit (can you tell we love one-pieces?) at the show and we were shooketh. The glasses are the perfect accessory to the shimmering one piece. Keke, you knocked it out of the park, girl.
Of course Taylor Swift made the list! In 2014, her crop top and matching skirt was one of our favorite looks. The color is great on her skin complexion and the yellow shoes are the perfect pop of color. She seriously looks like a barbie doll in in this photo, don’t you think?
Ah, Bella Thorne. It may be a little shocking to see her on a best-dressed list, but let us remind you that a few years back, she was absolutely KILLING it in the fashion department. The dress she wore to the 2014 TCAs instantly become one of our all-time favorites. For starters, the blue is a great color to pair against her hair and the pattern is gorgeous. Overall, what makes this look so good is the simplicity and sophistication of it.
Shay freakin’ Mitchell: need we say more? Time and time again, she SLAYS it on the red carpet. We literally have a quakening (the state of being quaked) every time we see her, including at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. This white two-piece lace number is absolutely marvelous and the styling of her hair, as well as her makeup, is *chef’s kiss*.
In 2013, Selena Gomez debuted this dark green number on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet and it quickly became a fan-favorite. The cut-outs of the dress make it the perfect mix between sexy, chic and sophisticated and her super-sleek hair just ups the ante.
To top it off, the slits are perfectly placed so that her legs legit look like they’re extending on for days. FIYAH!!
The Cheetah Girls
Let’s throw it back 10 years when The Cheetah Girls was still a thing and the girls made sure to strut like they mean it on the
red blue carpet. Although this look may look a little outdated today, it was stunning at the time and perfect for the Teen Choice Awards.
Brittney Spears has been slaying us on the red carpet for decades, including at the 2003 Teen Choice Awards. This light purple number was simple yet super adorable, and totally fit her nice-girl image of the time.
