YOU'D be forgiven for wondering what on earth we're talking about when we wax lyrical over the Eta Aquarids meteor shower.

Sky's the limit
The Eta Aquarid meteors, also called the Aquarids, are basically dust from Halley’s Comet.
The comet is a curious cosmic snowball of dust, gas and rock that's only visible from earth every seven to eight decades.
At their peak on May 5 and 6 there are predicted to be 60 meteors an hour, which will more visible in the Southern Hemisphere and will appear to radiate from the constellation of go-getting sign Aquarius.
They're still visible in Northern Hemisphere countries like the UK and US, you just need to look lower down on the horizon very late on May 5 or into the early hours of May 6.
Downloading a stargazing scanning app for your smartphone may help you locate it.
According to NASA, in the Northern Hemisphere, Eta Aquarid meteors can more often be seen as "earthgrazers". Sounds intriguing.
Earthgrazers are basically long meteors that appear to lick the surface of the Earth at the horizon.
When Earth passes through this area of space, minute particles crash into the atmosphere at break-neck speed and embody a golden glow- a shooting star to you and me.
Waiting for a star to fall
Meteor showers are full of positive energy for all signs, but particularly Aquarius, in terms of romance.
They're also a great time to go on a date. Just imagine seeing the sky light up snuggled up with bae under a blanket.
While it's a great time for love, the showers are quite literally blazing the skies and when we witness that it's time to do some life admin.
It is a time when you might finally see a solution to something that's been puzzling you – a real Eureka moment.
For many people, this decision will be love-locked. You might want to take your relationship to the next level or kick that friend with benefits to the kerb.
In astrology, a meteor shower is basically a sign that the electricity of the sky is zinging you into action.
You don't have to wait for a star to fall – they already are!

What the meteor means for your sign
Earth (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo)
The fact that the meteor shower is radiating from the constellation of Aquarius is asking the signs of earth to take a risk.
While you like to take the road most travelled, this star-filled extravaganza is asking you to do something or at least think about something you've always wanted to do but never have.
Sounds exciting!
Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
The fire signs may feel a real need to be free during the next few days.
Lockdown has been hard on us all, but especially this strong-willed trio who don't like anyone telling them what to do.
Use the power of the shower to think about how you can achieve the freedom you crave in a world which has changed so much in the last year.
Water (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio)
The water signs may need to rethink the way they relate to others during this period.
Do your friends know much you value them? If they don't, we'd bet they'd love to receive a message telling them how much they matter to you.
Be open to new ways of connecting to others and making new acquaintances during this time.
Air (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra)
The air signs should feel the effects of this power shower the most.
Romance should feel right and if it doesn't, think about what needs to happen for it to change.
If you're lucky enough to witness one of the most spectacular effects of the astronomic calendar, make a wish on a shooting star and know that there's every chance it will come true.
