APITS’ Jonnie Irwin issues health update to worried fans amid hospital stay

Jonnie Irwin has issued a health update to worried fans after being admitted to hospital last weekend while battling terminal cancer.

The A Place In The Sun star, 49, was given just six months to live when he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

The cancer then spread to his brain in August 2020, and almost two and a half years later he publicly shared his diagnosis in December.

Since then, the husband and dad-of-three has been keeping his followers updated on his journey and how he is doing.

Last week he revealed he had gone back into hospital – with doctors at the time unsure of when he was able to leave.

The property expert has since posted on Instagram – sharing a sweet video on Wednesday (May 31) of his three sons Rex, Rafa and Cormac playing outside in the sun-soaked garden.

Fans were unsure whether it was Jonnie who filmed the video though – seeing as he was admitted to hospital a mere few days before.

What’s more, Jonnie failed to address his hospital stay further – which caused fans on Twitter to check up on him.

On Monday (June 5) one of Jonnie’s fan asked: “Wonder how @jonnieirwin is doing?

“I know he has cancer and was in the hospital getting pain management.

“Is that good or bad? Not sure. That is the last I heard. Hope he is feeling better soon.”

The tweet didn’t go amiss from Jonnie who replied to the fan shared an update on his health.

He said: “Thanks, I’m back home and feeling relatively good! X.”

In March, Jonnie candidly revealed that is “weak and fragile” but insisted he is “still here".

Speaking to The Sun, the dad-of-three spoke about how attempting to play football with his four-year-old son “broke” him.

“I tried to play football with Rex the other day and was in goal and I couldn’t get near the ball. It was so frustrating,” he said.

“I’m very sporty and suddenly it’s just like…it was as if it was the first time I’d attempted football. I felt like a granddad. And that broke me a bit.”
