Katie Crutchfield made a major creative breakthrough last year with Saint Cloud, her fifth album as Waxahatchee. The Alabama-raised singer-songwriter was met with rave reviews across the board when the LP was released in March 2020, and enthusiasm for her clear-eyed country-rock songs about personal growth and domestic bliss held strong through the months that have followed. At year’s end, Saint Cloud made it into the Top 10 in Rolling Stone‘s list of the Best Albums of 2020, as well as ranking highly on many RS staffers’ personal favorites.
On January 27th at 3pm Eastern time/ 12pm Pacific time, Crutchfield will join Rolling Stone deputy music editor Simon Vozick-Levinson for a virtual event discussing her acclaimed album and the year in music, in partnership with Yappa, an audio and video commenting tool.
Members of the audience will be able to share their voice and ask questions directly by submitting “Yaps,” short audio or video recordings. Yappa gives the public a new way to leave comments on websites and join the conversation. For this event, participants are encouraged to leave their audio and video questions for Waxahatchee using the Yappa widget in the comments section at the bottom of this page. The most engaging yaps will have the chance to be aired during the January 27th event and responded to by Crutchfield herself.
