Danniella Westbrook posts ‘growing means pain’ message after EastEnders snub

Danniella Westbrook appears to be looking to the future after being snubbed by EastEnders last month.

Taking to Instagram to put on a brave face, snap a glam selfie and open up about how she's feeling, Danniella let fans know that she's "growing" and while doing so, she's expecting "pain and change."

The former EastEnders beauty posted a snap alongside the statement. She could be seen donning a glam makeup look and chic hat as she posed for the camera.

Writing a lengthy caption on Instagram to accompany her latest snap, Danniella penned: "To truly evolve you have to grow," she started.

"Growing means pain, change, excepting that we have to walk away from people, make good anything you need to, wish them love & remember that season with a smile."

She added: "We get one life and the days weeks months and years soon start to stack up & fly by… it’s great to support care and have empathy but don’t forget your own soul needs feeding and your own story is waiting for you to turn the page and make it something amazing.

"Sometimes people come in and out your life for a few years, but inevitably one of you will evolve."

She then urged: "Then that season has gone, don’t be bitter, don’t talk bad of them, open your eyes & close your mouth take a moment to see that it’s nothing personal it’s just people are living, be inspired to dare to change, evolve & ask yourself what it is you want in life, then turn the page and start to live [your] story… memories music and happiness is what you can hold on to look back with love not regret or jealousy."

"This has been the hardest part of my journey this last six months but trust in the one thing I can tell you I’ve learned and that’s to trust the process, walk towards your next chapter in faith and just do you," she continued to write.

"I can promise you it won’t be all fun and laughter but it feels good when you actually realise that to love yourself & put yourself first is not a crime, it actually what doing the right thing feels like… My life today is not always a rose garden but I’m investing in me I’m growing and it’s so exciting, rewarding and grounding…"

Fans and friends flocked to the comments section to support the star, with one writing: "Spot on babe keep on growing and believing in you. Bless you."

Another said: "Yes always be positive – you are very talented and talent always wins through eventually x."

While a third penned: "Lady Westbrook won’t mention the programme But it should have been you, we know you for that character and you nailed it, Wish you love luck and laughter in whatever you do You’re a Gorgeous Badass warrior never give up xxxxx."

This comes after the star took aim the BBC after being snubbed by producers to reprise the role of Sam Mitchell on EastEnders.

The other week, it was announced that Kim Medcalf – who had previously played Peggy Mitchell's daughter on the soap – had been selected over Danniella to return to Albert Square.

While the 48-year-old actress wanted to wish Kim well, Danniella also made it clear that she wasn't happy with how the decision had gone and even threatened a legal dispute.

Unhappy with the outcome, she penned: "Wishing Kim the best of luck at @BBCEastenders__ yet again this poor woman has to recreate a Samantha Mitchell as close to my last two recent come backs on the square go smash it darling… x."
