TV host Davina McCall has said she lost the plot and blew a load of cash on flash cars and lavish holiday in her 30s and 40s.
But the Masked Singer star, 53, said that she enjoys a calmer life now.
She said: "My new life post-50 feels very different. In my 30s and 40s, it was about flashy cars and holidays. I used to look in jeweller's windows and go, ‘Wow, look at that!' – I was always seeking comfort in exterior niceties.
"And I was on a hamster wheel of having to earn a certain amount of money to keep this crazy lifestyle. I put myself in a gilded cage.
"I don't give a hoot about those things now. All I want is to create a life full of love and laughter for my family."
Davina rose to fame in her 20s, initially trying to carve out fame as a singer, before landing a presenting gig with MTV Europe.
She became a household name with the cult success of Big Brother, hosting the series from the millennium until 2010.
Davina married her ex-husband Matthew Robertson when she was 32, with the sweethearts spending the next 17 years together, raising three children – Holly, 19, and Tilly, 17, and 14-year-old son Chester.
Despite renewing their vows in 2015, they announced their separation two years later, with Davina stating: "I am very sad to say that Matthew and I have separated."
The lauded broadcaster celebrated her 50th birthday the following year, a milestone that made her look at life from a new perspective.
Davina is one of four judges on the debut season of The Masked Dancer – a spin-off of The Masked Singer – joining Oti Mabuse, Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross on the star-studded panel.
The series comes to a nail-biting climax this weekend, with six celebrities remaining to be unmasked.
Davina has already been shocked by some of the reveals on the show – when A-lister Dita Von Teese was exposed as Beetroot, she couldn't help but express her surprise.
Pro ice-skater Christopher Dean, singer Louise Redknapp, Eddie the Eagle, Diversity star Jordan Banjo, and presenter Zoe Ball have also been unmasked on the show.
