The daughter of Dawn French and Lenny Henry has appeared in court charged with controlling behaviour in a relationship and false claims of sexual abuse.
Billie Roma Henry, 28, appeared at Bodmin Magistrates Court on Thursday facing a single charge of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship.
Henry, of Glenmore Avenue, Plymouth, was adopted aged two weeks by comedian French with former husband Sir Lenny. She was supported in court by Dawn French's current husband Mark Bignall.
Henry denied offences which are alleged to have taken place between August 2018 and February this year in Dobwalls in Cornwall.
Henry is alleged to have sent an excessive number of text messages demanding attention, and sent emails and text messages purporting to be from others which included threats of violence to Samuel King, Charlie King and herself, as well as falsely claiming to have been subjected to sexual abuse and physical violence by her former boyfriend.
The charge states that the behaviour had a serious effect on the former boyfriend, and that Henry knew or should have known that the behaviour would have that impact.
Henry pleaded not guilty to the charge, and will appear at Truro Crown Court for trial on December 13. She has been released on conditional bail.
