Elvis Presley was one of the greatest entertainers of all time, but he also loved to be entertained himself. In Graceland’s TV room he had three TVs mounted in the wall next to each other so that he could watch multiple channels at once. The King got the idea from President Lyndon B Johnson who would watch different news networks at the same time in the White House.
A couple of years ago, Elvis’ first cousin Billy Smith revealed The King’s favourite TV shows to watch.
Speaking on his son Danny’s Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube channel, Billy said: “[Elvis liked to watch] all kinds of stuff.”
In terms of entertainment, The King enjoyed The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
But also, sci-fi TV show The Twilight Zone, which in Elvis’ lifetime ran its first season from 1959 to 1964.
As for sports, Billy emphasised Elvis’ love of watching both football and boxing.
In total, Elvis had 14 TVs at Graceland and according to the mansion’s official Instagram account he also enjoyed Laugh-In, The Untouchables and The Match Game.
Of course, Elvis didn’t always like what he was watching and really did shoot his TVs on occasion.
In fact, one of the victims is on display across the road from Graceland where some of his possessions are encased for fans to see.
During another interview with Billy Smith, Elvis’ cousin revealed why he would shoot them.
The Memphis Mafia member said: “Most the time ‘cause he wanted to!
“It might be something he saw on TV or it might of been something that bothered him.
“A lot of times you had to wait a little later until Elvis kinda went through whatever was bothering him and then he would tell you.”

Billy added: “I mean he could have been mad at somebody or something that happened and he would just…take it out on…and he shot several TVs now.”
Earlier this week, Graceland’s walls were vandalised with spray-paint.
Protested had sprayed on in black and orange lettering messages like “Black Lives Matter”, “Defund MPD” [Memphis Police Department] and “Abolish ICE”.
Elvis’ ex-wife Priscilla Presley has since released a statement expressing her shock.
The 75-year-old tweeted yesterday: “Concerning the graffiti at Graceland,
“I’m absolutely horrified that those in our own city disgraced the walls surrounding Graceland.
“I’m saddened by acts like this and appalled by this behavior.
“We were able to clean all the graffiti off thanks to our dedicated crew.”
