With Baz Luhrmann's latest epic Elvis to his cinemas, it seems like a good time to remind ourselves of the link between the iconic crooner and… the Kardashians.

Elvis Presley is one of America's most pioneering musical artists and, indeed, the King of Rock n Roll.

Meanwhile, the Kardashian clan are billionaire reality stars known for their curvy bums.

How can they possibly be connected?

Kris Jenner’s first husband and dad to four of her children was, of course, Robert Kardashian.

He died of oesophageal cancer in 2003 aged 59.

When Robert met Kris it was said to be love at first sight and, according to rumours, he proposed to her after just three dates.

However, Kris, 66, had recently got a new job as an air hostess so decided to cool things a bit.

Even though they stayed in touch, while she was away, Robert struck up a relationship with Priscilla Presley, Elvis’s ex-wife.

Priscilla was 30 at the time and newly divorced.

Apparently, Robert wanted to marry her but she told him that she would not tie the knot again until Elvis died.

The singer was also said to be quite controlling and did not approve of Priscilla being with anyone else.

That put an end to that and they split after just one year.

Not long after, Kris was back on the scene and she married Robert in 1978.

They divorced too but remained friends until his death, with Kris regularly paying tribute and speaking fondly of him to this day.

Kris is the missing link again!

After Robert, Kris started a relationship with Olympic gold-winning decathlete Bruce Jenner – now Caitlyn Jenner.

They married in 1991 and have two daughters, Kendall, 26, and Kylie, 24.

But this was Caitlyn’s third marriage.

She was previously married to actress Linda Thompson, whom she wed in Hawaii in 1981.

They have two sons, Brody, 38, and Brandon, 41.

But Linda, 72, who was also a famous beauty queen, was in a four-year relationship with Elvis prior.

They met when she was 22 at a private film screening and “hit it off”.

They supposedly split because Linda did not want to be part of Elvis's crazy showbiz lifestyle.

Interestingly, Linda has blasted the new film.

There is no mention of her in it – only Priscilla – despite her being with Elvis almost until he died.

She also toured with him extensively.

Linda said: "I spent four-and-a-half years of my life living with and deeply caring for Elvis on many levels. I shared a hospital room with him every time he was in hospital.

“I had my own bed next to his during those times.”

She added: "I literally saved his life on several occasions.

“I haven’t seen it yet. The trailer looks very entertaining and Austin Butler appears to do a fantastic depiction.

“But since so many people are left out who were very important and instrumental in Elvis’ life – I wouldn’t call it a biopic."
