First Dates star Fred Sirieix has revealed how he underwent major surgery on his legs and that he was looking forward to drinking some Earl Grey tea.

Fred, 50, took to his Instagram Stories to post a video after waking up from the operation, telling followers: "Right… double knee operation was a success," adding: "I'm still coming around from the anaesthesia but all good!"

The dad-of-two, who looked unfazed as he sat up in his hospital bed, went on to say: "I'm about to have my Earl Grey tea."

The Frenchman also shared a picture of his legs, which had both knees bandaged and coated with medicinal ointment.

Before the op, the 50-year-old had kept silent about his surgery, and appeared to be active as he and Emma Willis, 46, showed off their toned physiques in November while filming for a show in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

Emma looked stunning in a strapless black bikini and a black sarong, while Fred sported a pair of red swimming trunks and silver sunglasses.

Taking to Instagram, Fred offered a flavour of the show, World Cook, which will be airing on Amazon Prime this weekend.

A clip showed Fred drinking out of a fruit cup while somebody shouted action, with Fred telling Emma: "And that's how they are going to win the World Cook!"

Emma replied with: "You've thought of everything," before the pair clinked their drinks together.
