Great Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins has shared the emotional moment she reunited with her six-year-old daughter after isolating away from her and the rest of the family following a positive Covid test.
The GMB and Classic FM presenter expressed her feelings about spending so much time away from her family and daughter during her return to the ITV breakfast show on Monday morning.
She said: "It's good to be back. Luckily I only had mild cold-like symptoms, so I can tell you it's nice to be out the other side safely.
"The hardest thing was, I mean I was lucky because I got off lightly, I just had cold-like symptoms, but having to isolate away from my six-year-old, not being able to hug her.
"I just wanted to make sure that I kept her safe and I didn't want to pass it on to my husband either, and luckily they were all OK."
The 46-year-old TV personality posted a touching Instagram picture of their beautiful mother-daughter moment, embracing each other after 10 days apart.
She was pictured in a bright summery outfit, wearing a light floral dress and denim jacket whilst her daughter Ella Rose wore a pink jumper and cute silver boots.
Charlotte wrote: “So I finally get to hug this one after being in isolation for 10 days with covid… I missed it SO much!!
"Thankfully I kept testing even though I had none of the usual covid symptoms, so caught it early and none of my family got ill.”
She also mentioned that she was looking forward to returning to Classic FM and Good Morning Britain, and also sent “love to all those isolating with covid right now.”
Charlotte and her daughter have a bond so special that they even share a bedtime.
Speaking at the Television and Radio Industry Awards in September, she praised her co-presenters for their hard work and mentioned that she and her daughter go to sleep at the same time, telling The Mirror: "I have the same bedtime as my six-year-old!
"I try to be in bed by nine."
