Horrifying images have emerged of the rescue crews at the scene of the fatal car crash in Turkey which tragically killed TOWIE star Lauren Goodger’s ex-boyfriend Jake McLean.

The devastating accident – which happened near the tourist city of Bodrum on Sunday (July 3) – also seriously injured his on-again of-again partner Yazmin Oukhellou who has since been hospitalised.

In the late-night images, the vehicle is seen laying on its roof in darkness amidst knee-high grass with the front and rear doors of the car open.

The car also had its front headlights on with the left-turn indicator light flashing as emergency crews standing nearby used torches to look inside the wreckage.

Jake, 33, rose to stardom while he was dating Lauren, 35, from 2012 to 2016 while the brunette beauty starred on The Only Way Is Essex and later went on to appear on Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Big Brother.

The mother-of-one – who is currently expecting her second child with partner Charles Drury – has since shared her first post since the news hit the headlines.

Writing on Instagram this afternoon Lauren, 35, said: "R.I.P Jake, I have no words right now.

"My thoughts are with your family & friends" followed by the broken-heart and angel emojis.

She was seen online looking emotional with her friends saying she was “devastated” at the news of his passing.

Jake’s aunt, Sheila McLean, has also paid a tearful tribute to her nephew from her home in east London today (July 4), as she told MailOnline: “Jake was a lovely boy… We’re all so upset.”

His on-off partner Yazmin, 28, also rose to fame from her appearances on TOWIE and is currently believed to be recovering from the crash in hospital after the star suffered injuries to one of her arms.

It is understood that Jake and Yazmin first got together in May last year before she made their relationship official on Instagram in December with a sweet clip that showed the pair sharing a kiss.

However, the couple ended their relationship just one month later after the TV hunk was reportedly caught “acting single” while on holiday in Dubai where it is said he was spotted leaving a club with Love Island ex Ellie Jones.

At the time of the crash, the pair were thought to still be broken up as friends confessed they are unsure what the duo were doing together in Turkey, with some speculating they may have signed a business deal.

A source has since told MailOnline: “It’s a complete tragedy and a total loss of life.

"Everyone is in shock and hoping Yazmin makes a full recovery.”
