Katie Price’s mum in tears during honest confrontation about drink-driving crash

Katie Price's mum Amy confronts her daughter over her drink-driving crash in a new BBC documentary.

In the upcoming documentary, Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next, mum Amy shares how devastated she was with her former glamour model daughter over the incident in 2021

In September last year, Katie, 43, flipped her car on her way to visit a friend while intoxicated.

The mum-of-five pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and spent a month in rehab at The Priory.

At the time of the incident, Katie was filming both her Channel 4 reality series Mucky Mansion and the upcoming BBC documentary.

One clip from the documentary set to air next Monday shows how much the drink-driving incident affected Katie's mum.

70-year-old Amy, who is terminally ill with a lung condition, confronted Katie about the incident.

Amy recalled: "For me to have a phone call at 6.30 in the morning saying, 'I've just had a crash, I'm ever so sorry mum' and it was unbelievable. We just couldn't believe it.

"And then I was speaking to this guy who actually got you out of the car and he was saying, 'I don't know how she survived this'.

"When you say to me at the time, 'Well, why am I still here?' It's awful for a mother to hear that."

The new BBC documentary follows Katie's son Harvey as he settles into his new home at college.

The former glamour model shared that Harvey's absence had left a "void" in her life and at the time of the accident, caused her to have anxiety.

Katie said: "I'm used to 19 years of having him around me, living, breathing, smelling, the noise — everything."

During her time in rehab at The Priory, Katie was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and given daily therapy.

She admitted during the drink-driving incident and court hearings she was feeling suicidal.

Speaking to The Radio Times, she explained: "I tried to kill myself before I ended up in the Priory.

"The only reason I didn't was because of my children. So, if my kids weren't here, I wouldn't be here today. Fact. The kids saved me."
