The music video arrives after the 50-year-old musician is under fire as he was caught on camera drunkenly dropping a homophobic slur to a crowd of people.
AceShowbiz –Kid Rock uses music to express his opinion. The musician slammed “woke-ness” and cancel culture in his new song “Don’t Tell Me How to Live”, which was released alongside its music video on November 19.
“Years ago, we all thought it was a joke, see? That every kid got a motherf***ing trophy,” Kid Rock raps. “But yo homie, here’s a situation/ A nation of p***ies is our next generation/ And these minions and their agendas/ Every opinion has a millennial offended.”
He continues ranting, “So what the f**ks up with all the backlash/ Here’s a news flash ain’t nobody gonna tell me how to live.”
The video features flashing images of mainstream media logos and shows, including a quick shot of “The View” host Joy Behar. He called the TV host a “b***h” during a 2018 appearance on “Fox & Friends”. He can also be seen rocking a “F**k Social Media” T-shirt in the music video, while one background actor is seen wearing a red MAGA-style cap that reads “Make America Kid Rock Again.”
The music video arrived after Kid Rock was under fire as he was caught on camera drunkenly dropping a homophobic slur to a crowd of people. The 50-year-old musician was further criticized when he used the word again while responding to the video’s backlash.
“If Kid Rock using the word f****t offends you, good chance you are one,” he wrote on Twitter, crediting the statement to his government name Bob Ritchie. “Either way, I know he has a lot of love for his gay friends and I will have a talk with him. Have a nice day.”
That is not the only controversy surrounding Kid Rock in the recent years. He received a huge flak and was accused of being racist over his drunken rant about Oprah Winfrey in 2019. “I’m like, Oprah Winfrey or Joy Behar, they can suck d**k sideways,” Rock said in the clip, which was shared by TMZ. “Oprah Winfrey is like, ‘Hey, I just want white women to believe in this s**t’-f**k her.”
