“A hired employee of BEST Crowd Management made false claims as it related to last night’s Morgan Wallen concert and we do not stand behind the details in his statement,” BEST Crowd Management said on Sunday, referring to a TikTok video featuring a security guard making the drunk claims. “Please refer to Morgan’s social media pages for details.”

In his Instagram Stories, the “Thought You Should Know” singer addressed his decision to cancel his show at the University of Mississippi’s Vaught Hemingway Stadium on Sunday at last minute. “Y’all know how important my fans are to me, so I feel horrible about this news,” he explained. “There’s nothing more I want to do than be on stage playing for you guys. But as of today, I’m on doctor-ordered vocal rest, and we have to reschedule this week’s shows.”

Morgan, who performed on Saturday, added, “After last night’s show I started losing my voice so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better. I really thought I’d be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to stage time, but my voice is shot and I’m unable to sing.”

In the wake of his health issue, the award-winning musician also rescheduled a trio of concerts planned for Michigan, Illinois and Nebraska in the upcoming days. The three shows have been postponed to June 27, September 8 and September 9. “All original tickets will be honored for the new dates,” Morgan added.

Fans, however, were not happy with the sudden cancellation. One concertgoer even filed a lawsuit against the singer, accusing him of breach of contract and negligence. The plaintiff, a Prentiss County woman, also criticized the artist for not canceling the show in a timely manner “in order to mitigate any damages incurred by his patrons.” She is seeking compensatory damages and wants her suit to become a class action lawsuit.
