An old interview clip between Oprah Winfrey and Dolly Parton has resurfaced online and sparked much debate.
Backlash had been angled towards the iconic American chat show host for deliberately setting out to "humiliate" the songstress on her programme.
Much backlash was ignited after many watched the old segment which saw Dolly discuss plastic surgery, mental health and an upcoming album.
Many accused Oprah of purposely asking "backhanded" question in order to obtain a certain reaction – with the clip going viral.
However, online user seemed to be divided over the situation with others piling in explaining that sensitivities were different almost two decades ago.
The resurfaced chat had been transformed into a TikTok video with more than 2.5million tuning in to sees Dolly, 75, discuss her upcoming album just because I'm A Woman.
It wasn't long before the clip began to surface on Twitter which caused even more criticism.
Speaking about the new album alongside some of the stars featured on it, including Shania Twain, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris and Dolly.
Bringing the emphasis to Dolly's looks, Oprah asked: "How are you defying age, Dolly? Whatcha doing?"
Dolly responded: "Oh I don't know, I'm a cartoon so I just look the same all the time!"
Oprah added: "But you've been open about that you've had some work done. Some tucks and pulls and sucks?"
"Yes I have, and I'll have some more when I need 'em,'" joked Dolly.
She went on: "I have a funny thing I was telling the girls, all the girls that are singing on the tribute album, a lot of them are very young.
"I was already into plastic surgery when they were still sleeping on plastic sheets!"
The caption of the viral segment read: "I feel like Oprah wanted her to be embarrassed but Ms Dolly said 'nope'".
One comment read: "Oprah looked so salty when she couldn’t get her to react how she wanted.. Lmaoo."
While another remarked: "The sad part is as I look back on a lot of interviews by Oprah, she was asking backhanded questions with the intention of humiliating her guests."
"Oprah seemed annoyed that she took the plastic surgery question so well," added a third.
