Piers Morgan has jokingly said there's a curse that makes him lose jobs after his shock Good Morning Britain exit.
The 56-year-old opinionated presenter made his departure from the ITV show last month after sparking backlash over his continued scrutiny of Meghan Markle.
Now, Piers has joked about a curse that's causing him to lose his jobs as he pointed out that GQ's long-running editor Dylan Jones is the culprit.
He said that all three of his GQ Award wins have preceded him losing his job just weeks afterwards.
The former ITV presenter won GQ's Newspaper Editor Of The Year for his coverage of and campaigning against the Iraq War in 2003 when he was Daily Mirror's Editor.
However, he then lost his job at the Daily Mirror in May 2004.
Later, Morgan won GQ's TV Personality Of The Year during his time at CNN in 2013 when he spoke out against America's gun culture.
His show was subsequently axed and ended in March the following year.
Last year, Piers won GQ's TV Personality Of The Year once again after holding UK government ministers to account during the pandemic on GMB.
In his Daily Mail column, Piers wrote: "I told Dylan I was extremely wary of accepting again when he told me I'd won another one, but he persuaded me lightning never strikes three times.
"Obviously, my first thought was 'BOOM!', I wrote in this diary about the news, ‘and my second thought was, 'Oh no, I really enjoy doing Good Morning Britain.'"
However, Piers departed GMB in March 2021 following his controversial remarks criticising Meghan Markle after her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The TV star said in his column for the Daily Mail that he has "lost his job" after giving his "opinion" on Meghan Markle.
ITV confirmed Piers would not return to GMB on March 9, announcing he had "decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain".
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
