Robert Pattinson may be one of the biggest stars in the world with an army of PRs and managers but he still lands himself into hot water at times.
Over the years the Twilight and Harry Potter actor has come out with a series of shocking tales during TV and radio interviews.
From alleging he was asked to pleasure a dog for a Hollywood film, to telling stunned US morning TV viewers he witnessed a clown die during a trip to the circus, Rob has made plenty of bizarre claims over the years.
It seems the Batman star just can't help himself when it comes to telling fibs in front of the globe.
Here we run down some of his strangest claims to date.
Death at the circus
During a promo tour for his 2011 film Water for Elephants, Robert Pattinson told The Today Show host Matt Lauer that he saw someone die when he visited the circus for the first time.
Seemingly jumping on the fact that Water For Elephants is about a man who runs away work for the circus, the actor said: "The first time I went to see the circus, somebody died.
"One of the clowns died. His little car exploded.
"The joke car exploded on him… Seriously. Yeah.
"My parents had to — everybody ran out. It was terrifying. It was the only time I’ve ever been to the circus."
He later admitted it was all a lie.
Coming clean he said: "I said those things. But I actually made the whole thing up," he explained.
"It’s coming back to haunt me. I said it on some show. It was really early in the morning the day after the New York premiere. Someone asked me what my experience with the circus was and I was like, I have nothing interesting to say. I don’t know why I said that."
Pleasuring a dog
Robert went from kooky to down right odd during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel.
The star was talking about his film Good Time when he claimed his character was initially meant to pleasure a dog.
He alleged he refused to do the act 'for real' so it was cut.
Rob told a stunned Kimmel: "There's this one scene we shot where basically a drug dealer bursts into the room and I was sleeping with the dog and basically giving the dog a hand job.
"The director was like 'just do it for real man, don't be a p*****.
"And the dog's owner was there and he like 'well he's a breeder, so you can'."
The story went viral and even prompted a response from PETA – who praised R-Patz for not agreeing to do the act.
However, he was forced to come clean and admit it was all a lie.
He clarified in a statement: "The story I told on Jimmy Kimmel last night seems to have spiralled out of control.
"What didn't come across is that this was supposed to be a joke.
"No one at all expected or assumed that anything like that would happen on the Good Time set.
"We are all huge animal lovers and would obviously never do anything to harm an animal."
Kicked out of school for selling porn
Robert told US host Howard Stern how he was kicked out of school for selling porn.
The Harry POttter actor claimed he used to flog adult magazines from his bag to bring in extra cash.
He said: "I was stealing porno magazines and selling them at school.
"No one knew at all what to do with them, though … I'd sell them for a lot of money.
"I used to go in [the store] and take, like, one or two, and then put them in my bag.
"I was in my school uniform when I was doing it, and it was kind of risky. At the end, I got so cocky that I would take the entire rack."
He claimed his business dreams came to an end when he got caught and his friends ratted him out.
"I was like, 'Don't call the cops, call my parents,' and I was trying to make up a lie of where I lived … I was terrible," he added.
"Basically, a couple of days later, everything fell down. Basically, every single one of my friends snitched on me."
Masturbating on camera
While many actors find it awkward to talk about sex scenes, Robert drew attention to it during a recent press call.
The actor was keen to point out that many of his jobs have seen him simulate a solo sex act on camera.
Talking about his film The Lighthouse in which there is a scene where he gets busy on camera, Robert laughed: "I keep masturbating.
"In the last three or four movies, I’ve got a masturbation scene.
"I did it in High Life. I did it in Damsel. And The Devil All the Time. I only realised when I did it the fourth time."
