Sinead O’Connor tragic twist as she was in talks for Hollywood biopic about life

Sinead O'Connor was considering a movie about her life when she died – and apparently had her eye on Demi Moore to play her.

The Nothing Compares 2 U singer passed away in July at the age of 56, and her management company has since said that she had plenty of "wonderful plans" in the pipeline.

These included "completing her new album, reviewing new tour dates for 2024 and considering opportunities in relation to a movie of her book".

Sinead released her memoir Rememberings in 2021, and according to The Sun liked the idea of Demi, Saoirse Ronan and Niamh Algar playing her.

It seems the stars could have played the singer at different times over the course of her career in a biopic based on the book.

“Sinead was keen to explore making her memoir into her film and she had a raft of ideas about how it would look on screen," a source told the paper.

"She had a huge amount of respect for Demi and thought Niamh was a real rising star after she saw her in her TV series The Virtues.

"Sinead, too, thought Saoirse was fierce and loved her from her film Brooklyn in 2015 when she played an Irish migrant."

The singer was found unresponsive at her home in London on 26 July and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family confirmed the news in a statement, saying: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead.

"Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

It led to an outpouring of grief among Sinead's friends. fellow celebs and fans.

The star was laid to rest in a funeral last week.
