Towanda Braxton is Threatening to Sue Blogger Amid Traci Braxton's Death

The drama between the famous cast of Braxton Family Values and their sister Traci’s husband amid Traci’s death reportedly continues. Now Towanda Braxton is threatening to sue a blogger who she is accusing of releasing false information about the family online. The blogger insists her sources are reliable.

The blogger revealed details about family strife amid Traci Braxton’s death

Many were stunned to learn that Traci died as news of her illness was not made public until after she’d already passed. But according to blogger Sharrell’s World, there were a few media entities who were aware. Out of respect for Traci’s wishes, they did not speak about her being sick on a public platform.

Sharrell revealed in one video that the family were at odds with Traci’s husband, Kevin Surratt Sr., regarding memorial service plans. Per Sharrell’s report, Traci left her son Kevin Jr. in charge of her estate as she knew the her sisters would fight against her husband. But Sharrell says Kevin Jr. abided by his mother’s final wishes, including a public memorial, which Traci’s sisters and their mother were against. Still, Kevin Jr. proceeded per Traci’s will.

Despite such, the sisters, nor their mother, attended the private or public memorial. Sharrell also noted that many in the family are not fans of Towanda’s boyfriend, Sean Hall, and that Towanda’s teenage daughter has expressed feeling uncomfortable around him. Traci has gotten into arguments with Hall, which played out in the final two seasons of Braxton Family Values.

The same information Sharrell revealed was then leaked to Page Six, this time with sources close to the sisters. “Traci did not want a funeral or wake. She did not want people looking all over her body. She specifically requested to be immediately cremated…There was a Zoom meeting that made it clear about what she wanted, and now her husband is trying to cash in on her name,” a Braxton insider told the media outlet.

Towanda Braxton says she’s prepping a lawsuit against the blogger for alleged lies

Braxton caught wind of the video and took to Instagram under an accompanying post on Sharrell’s page to let her know how she felt about it. Not only does Braxton say Sharrell is lying, but she’s also threatening to take legal action against the blogger.

“I’m gonna have our attorney send you an official letter for defamation and slander,” Braxton said in one comment. “As you know as a blogger, you can’t say what you want. Good luck,” she warned.

Sharrell shot back at Braxton, writing: “Are you serious right now? You’re really in my comment section trying to start a beef with me? How old are you again? Isn’t it about time to grow up?”

But Braxton wasn’t having it. “You’re so disrespectful and insensitive,” she said to Sharrell. “Grow up?! Is there an age to stop grieving? Grow up from grieving?! Wow. You’re a piece of work.”

The Braxton family had their own private memorial in honor of Traci Braxton

None of the Braxton sisters nor their mother have ever spoken publicly about why they did not attend the private or public memorial orchestrated by Traci’s husband and son. Kevin Sr. did speak with Page Six and told the media outlet that he extended an invitation to them and they opted not to attend. He also noted that though they did not invite them to their private memorial in honor of what would have been Traci’s 51st birthday on April 2, he hopes they can resolve their issues.

Ahead of the memorial, Toni spoke with Tamron Hall and revealed that the Braxton family would memorialize Traci privately. Popular photographer Freddy O was present to capture the event on camera. Several photos of the sisters, their mother, and close celebrity friends in attendance made its way across social media platforms.

All of the guests wore an ensemble featuring bright green, which appeared to be the dress code and a favorite color of Traci’s. Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Nene Leakes and singer Keke Wyatt were both in attendance.
