Hollywood star Weston Cage has recalled the time a naked intruder broke into his family home.
The actor son of movie icon Nicolas Cage opened up about the traumatic experience as he admitted he would not have handled things in the same way as his dad.
Weston, 31, confessed it "would have been bloody" had he been in the property when the nude man made his way in and stood over the Oscar-winning actor and his wife in bed as they slept eating an ice cream and wearing Nicolas' leather jacket.
Recalling his close bond with retired UFC legend Royce Gracie, Weston admitted that he would have deployed the skills the MMA fighter taught him in private lessons from the age of eight until he was a high school wrestler on the intruder.
He said: "One time a naked intruder broke into my father’s home. We were glad I wasn’t there because I think the person may have had diseases and it would have been bloody.
"My father handled it calmly and addressed it very careful and noble way. He was aware that the person was mentally sick."
Nicolas previously told of the "horrifying" experience during the 2011 Toronto Film Festival.
He said: “It was two in the morning. I was living in Orange County at the time and was asleep with my wife. My two-year-old at the time was in another room.
"I opened my eyes and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgesicle in front of my bed. I know it sounds funny … but it was horrifying.”
Mental illness is a subject close to Weston's Heart as he has suffered with depression himself in the past.
He explained: "There were several of times when I suffered with severe depression at a very extreme level. The depression was strong enough to disrupt my ability to communicate and remember things. I’ve gone through that mental dissonance many times in my life.
"I also used to have an issue with alcohol that I don’t really deal with anymore. It was extremely difficult but with my faith in God and the connection with the Universe I made it through. I’ve overcome a lot."
