Former US President Barack Obama has admitted the videos of unexplained flying objects (UFOs) seen by Navy personnel are real, with the objects showing no "easily explainable pattern".

Interest over UFOs has developed into a frenzy over recent months with the release of several baffling videos.

One showed “pyramid-shaped” UFOs hovering in the sky near the USS Russell while another appeared to show a craft hurtling into the ocean without any signs of destruction in front of the USS Omaha.

And Obama himself has now said he is equally perplexed by what has been caught on camera.

Appearing on James Corden’s Late Late Show yesterday (May 18) to promote his new book A Promised Land, he said: “When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just cannot tell you on air.

“What is true is that there is footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are.

“We can’t explain how they move, the trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern.

“People still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”

The 59-year-old revealed he was so fascinated by the UFO subject that, when he came into office, he asked if there were any aliens being hidden in a “lab”.

“When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just cannot tell you on air,” he continued.

“The truth is, when I came into office I asked. I asked ‘is there a lab somewhere we are keeping the aliens?’

“They did a little bit of research and the answer is ‘no’.”

Jeremey Corbell, the investigative filmmaker who first released the two incredible videos, told Daily Star that the Omaha footage is “unprecedented”.

“It’s the first ever footage of its kind,” he added. The LA-based journalist previously told this site there had been “discussions” within Navy circles that the UFOs could be emanating from some sort of base underwater.

Obama’s appearance came after CBS’ 60 Minutes aired a special on the UFO topic.

In it, Commander David Fravor recalled how the infamous UFO spotted by F-18s from the USS Nimitz carrier group dropped from heights of 80,000ft in a matter of seconds.
