The supposed alien spaceship has been appearing near the Sun for the past five years, at least according to notorious UFO hunter Scott C Waring. Mr Waring runs the blog UFO Sightings Daily where he shares dubious and unverified video clips and pictures of what he claims are extraterrestrial phenomena. His latest exposé of the “black triangle” UFO, he believes, sheds light on a grand conspiracy to keep evidence of alien life secret from the public.

Writing on his blog, Mr Waring shared photos of the supposed alien craft, which he took from the Helioviewer website.

Helioviewer combines snapshots of our Sun from the various spacecraft that keep a watchful eye on the star.

These include NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) and the European PROBA-2 satellite, among others.

Mr Waring has been keeping track of the Sun through the Helioviewer website for a few years now, picking out images with tiny, black splotches on them.

The black splotches, according to the conspiracy theorist, are advanced alien craft zipping around the Sun.

Mr Waring first reported the black triangle UFO two years ago, and he believes it has since moved around.

Five years ago, for instance, he spotted it in the Sun’s upper left corner.

It has since disappeared and reappeared in other parts of the Sun.

Mr Waring said: “Since then… I have been watching it, asking about it in emails to astronomical organisations worldwide, yet have never once received a response.”

Mr Waring is convinced the images are proof of ET life – and not more plausible explanations like digital artefacts or glitches.

He believes the black triangle is about 1/5 the size of our planet and is built from some sort of heat-resistant material.

More importantly, however, he thinks he has uncovered a global conspiracy to keep this information out of the public eye.

Mr Waring said: “No scientific organization has ever acknowledged its existence.

“There is clearly someone of power trying to keep this knowledge out of the hands of the public.”

The conspiracy theorist went on to say billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates are in on the secret, adding: “In time we will find out the truth.”

There is, of course, no evidence to back any of these bizarre claims.

But there is plenty of evidence to suggest the black triangle UFO is nothing more than a digital glitch in the images.

According to NASA solar astrophysicist C. Alex Young, black artefacts like these often appear in NASA’s pictures of the Sun due to “a simple data dropout”.

Mr Young witnessed many of these glitches during his time working on the SOHO spacecraft – the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory.

The expert said: “The image stream for SOHO/EIT came in blocks so if part of the data was lost you got a missing block.”

NASA has addressed some of these digital glitches on its SOHO website, in a guide titled How to Make Your Own UFO.

According to a SOHO scientist, glitches and artefacts can also be induced by cosmic rays passing through the spacecraft, software glitches, detector defects or even just debris floating around in space.

The scientist explained: “Sometimes you’ll see a cosmic ray seem to persist in the web images for two or more frames.

“This is because we lose a certain percentage of the data coming down from the spacecraft.

“In LASCO such losses appear as square blocks in the image.

“The software which puts the images up on the web will fill in these blocks from the last good image, and if there’s a cosmic ray in that block from the previous image, it will appear in this image as well.”
