Disney-loving puppy can’t get enough of 101 Dalmatians film in adorable video

A Dalmatian puppy has found her favourite Disney movie – and she fits right in with the rest of the cast.

Aptly named Dottie, the tiny pup has become infatuated with the 1961 film 101 Dalmatians.

During the scene where Perdita, Pongo and the pups are watching the Kanine Krunchies advert, Dottie jumps up at the TV for a better look in the adorable TikTok video.

The little Dalmatian fits right in with Lucky, Rolo, Patch and Freckles – and has a suitable name to match.

Disney lovers swooned at the clip posted by @ktencarp, which has racked up 1.6 million views. But it wasn’t the only nostalgic thing to melt the heart of those watching.

Viewers were quick to notice that Dottie’s owners were playing the movie on a VHS player, which sat next to their retro gaming console.

One said: “101 Dalmatians, an N64 and a VCR… What year is it? Have I time travelled?”

Another said: “Cute dog – but N64 and Super Nintendo?!”

Viewers can’t get enough of the 102nd Dalmatian, with one adding: “It would only make sense that that’s her favourite movie.”

Dalmatians as a breed gained popularity after the release of the film in 1961, almost doubling in registrations from 791 to 1,549 between 1959 and 1963, according to The Kennel Club.

By 1968, it was the 16th most popular breed, rising to number 13 in 1996 when the live action remake was released, reaching nearly 4,000 annual registrations.

The Kennel Club said: “The dotted dogs remained in the top 20 most popular breeds in the UK until 2004 when numbers began to slip, much to the relief of Dalmatian breed rescue volunteers who see first hand the repercussions of a puppy sale that goes wrong.”

The club raised concerns in May as Cruella was released, worried there would be another spike in the number of Dalmatians registered after being seen on the big screen once more.

Bill Lambert, spokesperson for The Kennel Club, said: “We often see trends for certain dog breeds fluctuate as a result of what people see in films or on television and the Dalmatian, an elegant breed that can turn heads in its own right, is certainly no exception.

“Whilst they can make wonderful pets when raised in the right environment, they can be too much of a handful for some, especially when there are 101 of them! Although Pongo and Perdita lived in a townhouse in London, in reality these breeds are much more suited to a larger living space with access to a garden.”

In another hilarious Dalmatian video, Marshall – who shares the name of the Paw Patrol pup – throws a tantrum when he’s told it’s bedtime.

In the video, despite clearly being tired, Marshall tries to tell owners Pete and Ruth Hodges that he is comfy where he is and doesn’t want to go to bed yet.

Ruth tells Marshall, “It’s bedtime,” urging him to get some shut-eye, which is when he begins whining and groaning.

Mid-conversation, Marshall yawns and gives himself away, and eventually stands up and wags his tail.

After a dramatic and very funny few minutes each night, Marshall will get off to bed and sleep right through the night like a good boy.
