The Earth has been “in contact” with aliens for nearly 50 years, says Uri Geller.
The spoon-bender was invited to a Nasa base in Maryland in 1974 after CIA officials were wowed by his mind-control powers.
And Uri, 74, said what he saw there convinced him E.T. exists.
Engineer Wernher von Braun showed him a piece of metal kept in a safe.
Uri said: “I touched it and told Wernher, ‘this is not from our planet’. He said, ‘You’re right – this is a piece of a UFO that crashed on Earth’.’’
Uri added his “jaw fell” at the contents of fridge floors beneath the base.
He said: “I cannot reveal any more about what I saw in that refrigerator.
“I have signed non-disclosure documents. But I can tell you that we are in contact.’’ Uri said a US report revealing 144 possible UFO sightings surprised him as officials said they were baffled.
He insisted: “They DO know more!’’
Defence Minister Baroness Goldie says the UK will not conduct its own investigation into UFOs “because in over 50 years no such reporting indicated the existence of any military threat”.

Microbiologist John Hallsworth found that no known living organism could survive the planet's atmosphere, which is equivalent to a relative humidity of 0.4%, CBS reports.
