Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has a very strange opinion about how many children we should all have and why.
Elon, 50, who has seven kids from three different relationships, previously revealed why he decided to have so many kids.
The billionaire, who was titled TIME's 2021 person of the year, made a bold claim in a virtual event last December that there are "not enough people in the world" and that population control is needed.
He said: "There are not enough people. I can't emphasize this enough. There are not enough people."
The Tesla CEO brazenly added that many people believe that the population is growing out of control but "it's completely the opposite".
Elon said: "If people don't have more children, civilization is going to crumble. Mark my words."
The billionaire was then quizzed on why he decided to have as many kids as he did.
He then joked and said he needed to "set a good example".
Elon explained: "I try to set a good example. Gotta practice what I preach."
After hearing the bizarre comments, people on social media had mixed reactions to the statement.
One wrote: "People cannot AFFORD children. Go tell the top 1% to have more children @elonmusk since they are the only ones who can afford them."
Another penned: "7 children was the average 200 years ago."
This comes as Elon and singer Grimes, 33, secretly welcomed their second child together earlier this month.
It was born in December 2021 via a surrogate.
The pair also share a one-year-old boy called X AE A-XII, who was born in May 2020.
Businessman Elon confirmed that he and Grimes were semi-separated but remained on good terms last September.
In a statement shared with Page Six at the time, he said: "We are semi-separate but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms."
Elon was previously married to author Justine Wilson, with whom he has five sons: twins Griffin and Xavier, 18, and triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai, 16.
