End of the world: Doomsday preacher warns of Armageddon: ‘It’s not bizarre, it’s biblical’

Warning signs laid out in the Christian Bible Armageddon will follow the construction of a Third Temple of Jerusalem. And although it is unlikely the temple will return to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount anytime soon, there are some Christians who believe it is a matter of time before this prophetic event unfolds. Chief among them is TV evangelist and online personality Paul Begley of West Lafayette in Indiana, US.

Pastor Begley is a popular purveyor of doomsday prophecies, who believes we are currently living in the end times.

He broadcasts his interpretations of scripture on YouTube and his weekly TV series The Coming Apocalypse.

And in a recent video discussing Israel’s role in end times prophecy, he said: “It’s not bizarre, it’s biblical.”

According to Pastor Begley’s gloomy interpretations of present-day events, Israel has taken the first step towards sealing what the Bible has called the “covenant with many”.

On August 13, the US administration unveiled a historic peace treaty signed between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The UAE is now the third Arab state after Egypt and Jordan to reach a peace deal with Israel, in a move pastor Begley is convinced will have biblical implications.

According to the Bible’s Book of Daniel, Israel will enter a covenant with many in the days preceding the rise of the false Messiah and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

And with this, Pastor Begley believes comes the promise of Jerusalem’s Third Temple being constructed

He said: “What we’re saying is absolutely true, that we’re living in the last days.

It’s not bizarre, it’s biblical

“And I think what people don’t understand is that they don’t know they scripture.

“First of all, they don’t know the scripture and so they don’t know what’s going on.

“And this is why I’m saying what I’m saying and it does shock some folks, it really does.

“But you know, look, it is what it is, okay. You can’t change prophecy that’s unfolding now right before our very eyes.”

The prophecies are based on a verse in the ninth chapter of the Book of Daniel.

Daniel 9:27 reads: He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’

“In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering.

“And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

Pastor Begley believes Jerusalem’s Third Temple will be constructed over the Foundation Stone on the Temple Mount.

The Foundation Stone is believed by many to be the central point from which the world was created by God.

Presently, the Dome of the Rock stands over a fragment of the stone where the Prophet Muhammad is said to have ascended to heaven from.

Pastor Begley claimed plans are in motion to construct a Third Temple next to the Dome of the Rock.

He said: “It will be built and it will be beautiful and spectacular.

“It will be one of the wonders of the world, and right now four million people a year got o Israel but once that Third Temple is built, they anticipate 50 million people will visit Israel every year.”

However, the present site of the Temple Mount has been under Islamic management since the 12th century and is known as the Haram esh-Sharif and the Al Aqsa Compound.

It is a holy site that is venerated by Jews, Muslims and Christian worldwide.

There is also no real indication biblical prophecies are unfolding in the Middle East.

The Bible itself makes it clear predictions about the world’s demise are futile.

Jesus Christ said in Matthew 24: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
