The family of a woman who became an overnight internet star after getting Gorilla Glue stuck in her hair have cropped their own locks in support.
Tessica Brown's mum and sisters have opted for short cuts in a show of solidarity with the 40-year-old, from Violet, Louisiana in the US, who shot to fame for attempting to use the adhesive instead of hairspray.
The mum-of-five said she attempted to wash the glue out "15 times" before visiting A&E.
Medics managed to remove some of the sticky substance using acetone – similar to nail polish – and had to to cut her ponytail, but were unable to get all of it out.
Now, mum Jessica Brown and sisters Juanita Brown, Jamie Sino, Erica Brown and Rose Hayes have rallied round and cut off their own hair to give her a much-needed confidence boost.
Tessica become an instant social media sensation after sharing a video of her desperate plea for help to TikTok.
However, she admitted she had been targeted by internet trolls, who claimed her ordeal was a publicity stunt.
She said: "The reason I went to the internet, because I never was gonna take it to social media, was because I didn’t know what else to do.
"And I know somebody out there could have told me something."
Tessica was finally free of Gorilla Glue after undergoing free treatment by a plastic surgeon in Los Angeles.
As a result, she donated the $20,000 (£14,000) she had raised to pay for treatment via GoFundMe to charity.
A statement from Gorilla Glue said: "We are aware of the situation and we are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced using our spray adhesive on her hair.
"This is a unique situation because this product is not indicated for use in or on hair as it is considered permanent."
The company added: "It is used for craft, home, auto or office projects to mount things to surfaces such as paper, cardboard, wood, laminate and fabric."
