A mum was left baffled after making a bizarre discovery at the end of her son's bed while cleaning his room.
The mum was hoovering in her seven-year-old's room when she spotted a cluster of small brown objects in a pile on the floor near the end of his bed. Having never seen anything like it before, the confused mum took to the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas Facebook group for help identifying the strange objects and worried members feared it could be tarantula or scorpion eggs.
"Does anybody have any idea what this could be? It’s at the end of my son’s bed on the floor," she asked. She revealed it was only in one space of the room, adding: “Not anywhere else in his room, not in his ottoman bed base or under his bed. Just at the end in one spot (I've spread it out a bit to look). Any ideas, please?"

Alongside her post, she shared pictures of the objects, which resembled small brown eggs or shells and could be seen scattered on the carpet. The online community were horrified by the mum's bizarre find as they weighed in on what it could be.
“Nope … new fear unlocked,” one member commented. Another petrified person wrote: “OMG, my skin is crawling – I hope this is cereal as I’m about to freak the freak out.”
Some had chilling theories about the mystery substance. “Definitely tarantula black widow scorpion eggs. Extremely bitey, and they bide their time to attack," one member said.
Others claimed they'd actually had similar experiences as they speculated there could be a slightly hair-raising but still grim explanation — a mice infestation. One person recalled: “Had this in both my kids’ bedrooms. They had them ‘Warmies’ that go in the microwave. You heat them up, and they smell like lavender.
"Anyways, it turns out I had mice. Eating all the insides of the toys I caught them on camera. I had to move out. So my advice is bin the toys and get your traps out.”
A second person added: “Had something similar in our shed once. It was evidence of mice/rats getting in.” Relieved at the mice explanation, another member commented: "Mice have had a lot of fun. I’m so glad that everyone said mice because, at first, I thought it was ticks.”
The mum explained that when she'd been cleaning her son's bedroom a few days earlier the strange objects hadn't been there, but when she returned to clean again it had suddenly appeared.
But in an update posted to the group after hearing other people's theories, the mum revealed she eventually found the source and it was a far less sinister culprit than some people initially thought – and was just a heat pack.
She said: “I hoovered it a couple of days ago, and it wasn’t there. I went back to hoover again, and it was. I have now found out it’s from a heat teddy that’s popped at the end of his bed.”
