From what to wear to what to say, there are probably hundreds of things running through your head before a first date.
Many people will turn to music to soothe the pre-date jitters, and now scientists have revealed the perfect pre-date song.
Neuroscientist Katherine Templar Lewis has partnered with MasterCard to explore how music can affect people in different scenarios.
In the study, 2,000 members of the public were surveyed about the music they listen to during various activities.
The results suggest that the best song to listen to before a date is ‘Shake It Off’ by Taylor Swift , while the best song to shop for groceries is ‘Suffragette City’ by David Bowie.
Meanwhile, while looking for the perfect little black dress, Beyonce’s ‘Run The World’ was the top option.

The findings also revealed that listening to music through headphones is turning shoppers into savvy spenders.
Ms Templar Lewis said: “It’s exciting to discover that listening to music with headphones whilst shopping can not only make us happier, but also make us smarter by helping us make wiser purchases.
“In addition, this study has also shown that music has a direct impact on the limbic system of the brain, elevating our mood, deepening our connection with friends and our environment.”
