An inbred family with wild eyes pointing in different directions has left fans shocked after an "unrecognisable growth" since their last appearance.

The community of SoftWhiteUnderbelly viewers rallied around the family who were documented frequently over the last year. A major change in the communication and friendliness of the Whittaker family was noted by many commenters.

Taking to the latest YouTube video showcasing the family, "Whittakers-Summer 2023", fans of the group noted their quality of life improvements. They also shared their joy in seeing the "compelling" unit growing up over the last year.

A GoFundMe is currently raising fund for the Whittaker family who are in need of a new home. With a goal of $250,000 (£205,000), the YouTube channel are hoping to provide the clan with a new place of residence in Odd, West Virginia.

And it appears commenters on a recent upload were moved enough to dig deep and offer up some funds. One wrote: "If they get the new house maybe we can all donate to pay for Betty to have a person come in a couple times a week to help her clean. Trying to take care of everyone has to be overwhelming for her. She's so precious."

Their efforts did not stop at raising funds, with another user touched the team were showing "support" to Timmy, featured in the video drawing on the patio. They added: "I have come to enjoy this family alot."

Others who enjoyed their time watching the family were particularly moved by how fast the group had grown, in particular one of the Whittaker members who tried to get up and greet their visitors. One commenter wrote: "I've never seen Lorraine be so talkative before the videos. That is so cool how she’s so happy to see you guys."

Another added: "Oh my heart just about burst when Lorraine jumped up and greeted you both. The growth is incredible." A third commented: "Lorraine saying 'hi' absolutely melted me. She doesn't ever talk, and the fact she got up, all excited and said hi to both of them. Just melted me."

One user was stunned to hear from Lorraine, with an unrecognisable growth across the videos now seeing her try and talk to her visitors. They wrote: "I’ve never seen Lorraine be so talkative before the videos."

The family has come a long way since the duo began helping them out with their day to day errands. Some were left on the verge of tears as they saw Lorraine respond to their appearance.

One user commented: "The impact you have made on this entire family is incredible. You cant help but tear up just watching lorraines reaction to both of you. The way this has touched millions of people goes to show the impact you not only made on this family, but millions of other people."

Another wrote: "The beginning of the video, when Lorraine came up saying and giving hand shakes and hugs just melted my heart. I truly love how the videos have made them happy and more and more people are looking out for them and saying hi and interacting with them."

Soft White Underbelly is currently aiding the family in purchasing a new home, with a previous campaign last year successfully raising $12,000 (£9,800) for the family.
