Sick bloke jailed for pulling gun on family to steal five French bulldog puppies

A sick bloke has been thrown in prison for six-and-a-half years for stealing a litter of puppies at gunpoint.

Christopher Lamont Stimpson Jr, from Greensboro, North Carolina, US, robbed an innocent family using a gun in a shocking attempt to take five French bulldog puppies.

According to a report from the United States Department of Justice, evidence showed how in October 2020, he turned up at the house pretending to be a genuine customer who wanted to buy the litter – valued at around £20,000 – but things took a dark turn when he pulled out a gun.

A quick-thinking member of the breeder's family managed to right down the bloke's car registration, which ended up being from a rental car.

However, an actual customer who was interested in the puppies managed to track down the stolen litter through Instagram – which also included images of the gunman.

He was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison on charges of robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, and interstate transportation of stolen goods in connection with the robbery.

Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division said: “This was a frightening armed robbery that saw the victims menaced at gunpoint.

"The fact that puppies were the property taken renders this crime more unusual, but no less serious.

“Christopher Stimpson made the very bad decision to come to Pennsylvania and take these pups by force, and this sentence holds him accountable for his actions."

“The case was part of the Project Safe Neighbourhoods program, a partnership with federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement and the local community to develop effective, locally-based strategies to reduce violent crime.”

The puppies were returned to the family, and it has been reported in some local news outlets that the person who tracked them down has ended up buying them from the family.
