It’s often seen as a taboo subject, but a new survey has finally revealed how often most British couples have sex.
The survey, by Ann Summers , asked 2,000 British people in relationships about their sex lives, including how often they have sex, and whether or not they enjoy it.
The results revealed that 49% of Brits have sex at least once a week, while 19% have sex two or three times a week.
However, 10% of respondents said that despite being in a relationship, they never have sex at all.
The survey also found that only 42% of women feel fully satisfied after sex with their partner, compared to 52% of men.
Despite this, it seems that when it comes to communication in the bedroom, many people find sex awkward to talk about.
The survey found that 41% of Brits don’t feel comfortable discussing their sexual desire with their partner.
Based on the findings, Ann Summers is launching Pleasure Positivity Project campaign.
Laura Whittaker, Senior Manager at Ann Summers, said: “This research allows us to get an insight into how couples are communicating about sex, and the results show many issues that need to be addressed.
“The fact that one-in-five women don’t feel comfortable discussing the fact they’re missing out on orgasms means that they’re suffering in silence.
“We find it important to share the best ways of communicating and the Pleasure Positivity Project will focus on this, continuing to empower women when it comes to their sexual confidence.”
