Arsenal plot deadline day move for World Cup star

Arsenal will make a late swoop for Domagoj Vida on transfer deadline day.

The Gunners are keen to strengthen at the back and the Croatia international has been targeted after a superb World Cup.

Arsenal will bid £26.9m for the Besiktas defender in hope it will be enough to beat off competition from Liverpool.

The Evening Standard believe Unai Emery will make a move on the final day of the window ahead of Sunday’s game vs Manchester City to begin the Unai Emery era.

Ousmane Dembele addresses Arsenal transfer interest

Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele spoke to fans on an online stream to confirm that he’s happy at Barcelona and has no plans to leave the Nou Camp.

French international Dembele has been heavily linked with the Gunners in recent weeks amid reports that Barca are planning to raise money to bid for his fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba .

But he says his only focus in Sunday’s upcoming Spanish Super Cup clash against Sevilla in Morocco – the first time the fixture has ever been played outside of Spain.

Unai Emery ‘not sure on four Arsenal players’ as Calum Chambers becomes first to leave club

Unai Emery is still yet to have been won over by four Arsenal players he inherited from Arsene Wenger.

The Spaniard was appointed Gunners boss at the beginning of this summer, taking over the Frenchman’s 22-year reign.

Emery has already put a stamp on things, bringing in the likes of Lucas Torreira, Sokratis and Bernd Leno.

Emery still hasn’t been convinced by Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

The Arsenal manager has already acted on this by allowing Chambers to leave on loan to Fulham.
