Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been fined and docked six points on his driving license after being clocked speeding at 99mph on the M1.
The Arsenal striker appeared at Willesden magistrates court in North London on Monday to receive his punishment after he was caught by a speed camera on the motorway.
Aubameyang – who earns £180,000 per week – was fined £1,250 for the offence in addition to the points penalty, the Sun report.
Defending lawyer Robert Morris said on behalf of the Gabonese star: "He is very sorry he is in this position. He accepts he has no excuse.
“He uses his car to attend training and matches.
“It is the top of the bracket but is not by any stretch of the imagination the worst case of speeding.”
Petrolhead Aubameyang has a fleet of supercars, including the £275,000 Lamborghini Aventador he was caught in by police.
Among others Aubameyang has a Porsche, Ferrari and Range Rover with his collection thought to be worth over £3m.
After joining the Gunners for £56m in January from Borussia Dortmund, the 28-year-old has found some form at the North London club.
He was on the scoresheet as Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 at the Emirates to pick up their fourth successive win.
It is likely Aubameyang will be rested for Arsenal’s next match at home to Brentford in the EFL Cup, with a sterner test to come against Watford at the weekend.
