I’M all Talk in the Bet365 Gold Cup.
TALKISCHEAP is improving fast and was a good fifth in hot company at Kempton last time out. He saw out the 3m well there and should relish this stiffer test of stamina.
Captain Chaos has more to offer after a good run in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham latest. The handicapper has given him every chance by leaving his mark alone.
Saturday star Bryony Frost rides Present Man who was third in this 12 months ago. He’s been aimed at this and should run well.
BEWARE THE BEAR 3/5
Bear with him. Big winner at Cheltenham and loves this sort of trip. Has lots of class but needs the forecast rain as his wins have come on soft ground.
YALA ENKI 2/5
Off Ki. Soft-ground horse who stays well and was outclassed in Cheltenham Gold Cup last time. Should find things happening too fast.
ROCK THE KASBAH 3/5
Rock solid. Fell in Grand National last time but stays well and won off 5lb lower at Cheltenham in November. Second in this last year and solid place claims again.
PRESENT MAN 4/5
Present and correct. Has only run three times since finishing third in this last year. Just 3lb higher in weights again so can’t be ruled out.
ADRIEN DU PONT 2/5
Pont to prove. Midfield in the Topham last time over National fences after good runs at Kempton. Stays 3m but may run out of petrol at this trip.

JOE FARRELL 3/5
No ordinary Joe. Last year’s Scottish National winner was pulled up at Aintree last time but ran well for a long way. Creeping up weights but stays very well.
STEP BACK 3/5
Back for more. Won this last year from 10lb lower and been aimed at this for a long time. Poor run in National at Aintree but could bounce back.
Happy Talk. Ran on over 3m last time and should like this trip. Looks on fair mark given his smart hurdles form and has a lot more to offer.
ROLLING DYLAN 2/5
Rolling downhill. Quirky type who was run out of it at Taunton in lesser last time. Went well here before that and stays but this looks tougher.
VYTA DU ROC 2/5
Roc crumbles. Out of form this season with a poor run in Cross Country Chase last time. Has talent but hard to fancy at present.
GIVE ME A COPPER 2/5
Copper off duty. Fell at Cheltenham last time after a good run when fourth here in February. Sees out trip well and on fair mark but lots of rain would help.
THE YOUNG MASTER 3/5
Master plan. Started season with two good wins and solid third in Kim Muir at Festival latest. Stays well and should be in the mix.
WEST APPROACH 2/5
Gone West. Been running in top races over hurdles but chase form has been over shorter with plenty of cut in the ground.
FLYING ANGEL 2/5
Flying low. Fair run in the Topham over National fences at Aintree after good fifth in Ultima at Festival. Grade 1 winner as a novice but last win was in 2017.
Dine out. Rare poor run last time after going close at Haydock and Newbury. Won on last visit here in lesser company and shapes like a stayer.
⭐️ TEN TO FOLLOW Don't miss Templegate's ten horses to follow for the Flat season
PRIME VENTURE 1/5
Prime cut. Yet to win over fences and best form has been with plenty of cut. Needs to improve on Midlands National fourth last time.
JUST A STING 2/5
Sting stung. Looked doubtful stayer in Kim Muir over 3m2f last time after good wins in lesser class. Still learning over fences so could improve.
CAPTAIN CHAOS 4/5
Chaos may reign. Solid sixth in Kim Muir last time and shapes as though this trip will suit. On fair weight and could find more.
RATHLIN ROSE 2/5
Rose wilts. Struggled in Scottish National last time after a good Ascot win. Just about stays this trip but looks a bit short of this class.
LE REVE 2/5
Reve in a spin. Fair fourth at Kelso last time but this is much tougher and he’s hard to fancy despite his decent course form.
GET ON THE YAGER 1/5
Yager could bomb. Modest third in Scottish National last time when seeing out the trip well. Best form has been in the mud.
DOING FINE 2/5
Fine ain’t dandy. Held in Scottish National coming back from long break. While now since he’s shown his best form.
