Eddie Hearn takes swipe at Tyson Fury and rubbishes possibility of Wilder fight

Eddie Hearn has rubbished the suggestion that Tyson Fury will fight Deontay Wilder later this year.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter failed to strike a deal with Wilder and his team this summer for a fight to decide the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

But Fury has shocked the sport by claiming he will now step up to challenge the WBC belt holder in Las Vegas later this year, though Hearn is not believing it for a second.

"What? When he’s just fought Sefer Seferi? And now he’s fighting ‘Andrea Pizza-netta’ [Francesco Pianeta]," Hearn said on an Instagram Live with iFLTV ‘s Kugan Cassius.

"Don’t be ridiculous. Listen you can be bluffed out by what you want, ‘oh wow, yeah, let’s tune in to Fury’s next fight because if he wins this he’s gonna fight Wilder.’

“He won’t fight [Tony] Bellew, he won’t fight Dillian Whyte. He ain’t gonna fight Deontay Wilder."

"I’m sure he will next year, he’ll fight everybody. But he’s got no confidence at the moment; he’s just been out the ring for two years.

“But it’s a great story to be fair. It’s good for the hype.”

Who will win a fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder should it take place in December?
