England ace Lauren Hemp scores one of the most ridiculously lucky goals ever at Under-20 World Cup

The Manchester City whizkid, 18, was floored as she rounded Mexico keeper Emily Alvarado yesterday.

But she somehow managed to land on the ball and it squirted in off her back.

Hemp – the PFA Women's Young Player of the Year – finished with three goals in yesterday's 6-1 rout in Saint-Malo.

And after @HayesCreech tweeted to ask if it was the strangest goal of all time, she saw the funny side.

The rising star replied: "Haters gonna say I didn’t mean it".

Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly and Georgia Stanway scored England's other goals as they completed a comeback victory.

Trailing to Jacqueline Ovalle's strike, Mo Marley's Young Lionesses bounced back superbly to secure top spot in their group ahead of North Korea.

England play Holland in the quarter-finals on Friday hoping to continue the country's recent successes at senior and youth level.
