Women's Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg could join Barcelona transfer after facing them in Champions League final with Lyon

WOMEN'S Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg is being chased by Barcelona as she prepares to meet them in the Champions League final, according to reports.

The Norwegian ace is preparing for Saturday's showdown as Lyon look for a fourth straight triumph.

And Spanish outlet Sport claims Barcelona will use the game as a chance to follow up on their interest after making contact with her club.

Hegerberg, 23, has scored 28 goals in 25 matches this season and is one of the biggest stars in the women's game.

She would command huge wages but Barca are determined to establish themselves as a dominant force.

After winning the Ballon d'Or, Hegerberg was asked if she could twerk – bringing widespread condemnation.

And the ex-Norway international will sit out this year's World Cup.

She has refused to play internationally since 2017 in protest at a lack of equality between the men's and women's game.

Hegerberg's sister – who plays for Paris Saint-Germain – has followed suit.

Norway chiefs tried to resolve the dispute but could not come to an agreement despite the men's players agreeing to donate some of their salary to create an equal-pay agreement.

And coach Martin Sjogren confirmed: "As a coach, you need to focus on the players who want to be a part of the team and Ada doesn't.

"We respect that and we have been working hard with the other players and they have been doing a great job."
