WWE news: Randy Orton should be gunning for Roman Reigns' Universal Title after sickeningly brutal battle with Jeff Hardy, claims Mark Henry

The Viper unleashed his dark side to defeat Jeff Hardy in a gruesome Hell in a Cell clash on Sunday.

Hardy left on a stretcher due falling through a table from the cage after Orton delivered a vicious beating – including sickeningly shoving a screwdriver through his opponent’s ear.

The RKO has played a prominent part in WWE for over 16 years to make him one of the company’s all-time biggest stars.

His constant reinventing of character to keep him top of the game only continues to cement his place among the legends of the business.

And fellow icon Mark Henry believes Orton does not get the credit he deserves.

Speaking to Busted Open Radio, the “World’s Strongest Man” said: “[Randy] is one of the most under-rated guys of all-time.

“His accolades speak for themselves, his talents speak for themselves.

“Randy is getting meaner and more vicious. He started off very smooth and fluid.

“Usually guys like him don't rise to the level of excellence that he's rose to, but he's been able to do that.”

SmackDown ace Orton, who has been WWE Champion nine times, has yet to have the Universal Title around his waist.

But despite him being on a separate show to the Raw championship, Henry believes The Legend Killer should be gunning for Roman Reigns’s belt.

Henry said: “Randy needs to be in that conversation for 'Universal Champion' type roles. He's that good.”
